Being sinful is now a mental health issue?

The attached image is from a new mental health evaluation we have in our facility. Upon receipt of a new arrest, we are to ask them a set of questions to evaluate their mental status, things like; "do you feel like people can read your mind?" "Do you think other people are able to put thoughts into your head or take thoughts out?" etc. And ranked among those is whether or not you feel "sinful."
However, there are no questions regarding mental illnesses related to transgenderism.

I have not felt comfortable including the "sinful" part of the question. What are your thoughts/advice on the matter?

Let me tell you about someone that helped me and took that burden upon himself.

Of course it would be frowned upon within a professional mental health setting but it certainly sets up a situation where the conversation could happen.

Well, you mentioned “arrest” so can I conclude this some kind of detention facility associated with law enforcement?

If so, it strikes me as very unusual to use the term “sinful” in an intake questionnaire which could mean different things to different people.

I would also be uncomfortable with such a question. Your concerns seem valid to me.

I can't say for sure, but I'll take my best guess.

If you've been on several sites as I have, you know that the mentally ill find "solace" on the net because many times they have no one else in real life.

There's another Christian forum I visit sometimes and there are more seriously mentally ill people than you can shake a stick at.

One thing I see from these over and again is that they doubt their salvation for unBiblical reasons. They believe that God will "revoke" their salvation because they have returned to:

• cigarettes
• overeating
• going shopping at SuperOne instead of Brookshires
• watching games shows
• and more things like this.

For some of these mentally ill people, they equate God's hatred for them with things that may be sinful but do not separate them from God.

They internalize things, sinful or not sinful, with GREAT sin.

It's the mark of the beast. Eliminate sin and label it as a curable illness.

Fortunately my Sgt. has given me his permission to give tracts to inmates. So that is a positive.

Suicidal individuals, schizos, and apparently sinners. I suppose the questionnaire was created by a group of secular humanists who regard religion (specifically Christianity) as a mental disorder/crutch for feeble individuals, but see men wearing dresses as completely normal.

Thanks for being faithful. I go into the local county jail about every 7 weeks (there is a coalition of 7 churches that have Sunday service for the inmates each Sunday morning) to share the gospel and good news of Christ Jesus reconciliation of sin. My church has an annual dinner to honor the volunteers from these churches as well as the guards and prison administrators who support the work. It's good to know that these inmates are hearing the gospel.

The ones that I am talking about are legitimately mentally ill. The legalistic people are a different story.

There is, at least, one person who posts on the BB who I believe is mentally ill. It took a few posts from the individual for me to recognize that the responses coming back were showing an illness of the mind. Consequently, I rarely respond to that person's posts or inquiries. Instead, I pray for the individual, that God will comfort them in their anxiety and wavering.

I will not name the person, but I do pray for that individual.
