"When black will not be asked to get back."
"When brown can stick around."
"When yellow will be mellow."
"When the red man can get ahead, man."
"When white will embrace what is right."

Um... this last line kind of made my nostrils flare. And the awful Dr. Seuss-ical type rhyming notwithstanding, what the heck does all this mean?

Compare this "prayer" by this sorry racist excuse for a "minister" to RW's prayer.

That's what happens when one guy knows Who he's talking to, and another one doesn't.

We are all decedents of Adam last time I looked - just different shades of the same color. You'd think someone praying might pick up on that.

Mr Lowery is no preacher, he is just a promoter of hate. :tear:

(1) Apparently, he thinks white people still make colored people ride in the back of the bus.
(2) This statement makes it obvious he has never come to Texas and seen our rich Hispanic heritage.
(3) Same as number two. He has never seen our Oriental population, nor the Vietnamese refugees that relocated along our coast.
(4) Well, we don't have any casinos, but the ones in the surrounding states that Texans flock to sure make the people a lot of money. Taking back America one dollar at a time.
(5) Simply sounds like a racist statement on his part.

I'd have to follow that up with a dedication to "minister" Lowery:

"When jerks don't get perks."
"When hustlers of race get told off to their face."
"When blasphemers of God are thought of as odd."
"When those touched in the head are taken to the woodshed."
"When those who can't pray are sent on their way."
"When those who are like the Klan get a kick in the can."

That about sums it up. Does that 'prayer' count too?

It is never a good idea to pretend like you are speaking to God to use as a platform to make such racist statements. He has taken a wonderful moment to celebrate the election of a multi-ethnic President and used it for blasphemy and poor poetry.

This guy is a joke and I think it safe to say he has never had an experiance with God, or he would have spoken with respect and not this trash.

Like him or not I thought Rick Warren did a fine job.

Well, it describes the history of the US.

It doesn't describe now. Haven't you noticed the ethnicity of the new president?

It also impugnes all white people. Or did you notice that, either?

It also wasn't a prayer. Or did you bother noticing that?

Frankly, did you notice anything at all?

Well is it possible that since white people put O'bama in office he is taking them to the woodshed. Perhaps he knows what some of us suspect.

This is more of the evil "rich white man" thinking that Obama endorsed at his former church and now has displayed at his "coronation". It is one of many disappointments we will witness from the new Obamanites. We well learn that what was right was not at all what they had in sight.
