Have any of you ever tried the freeware version of Roboform? http://www.roboform.com/

Apparently it remembers all your passwords and automatically logs you in. It can also be set to fill out forms with personal information for buying or registering online. Does anyone have any experience with this software? In addition the the Roboform website above, here is the Webattack page for Roboform, where it has been given Webattack's highest rating for freeware: http://www.webattack.com/get/roboform.shtml

My favorite freeware is OnlineBible:

http://www.onlinebible.net/
or in Europe:
http://www.onlinebible.com/

It is available for both Mac and Windows, has many add-ons (commentaries, dictionaries, maps, etc) and works great. Also has many languages (Dutch, French, Romanian, Maori, Afrikaans, etc., and of course Greek and Hebrew). Some study aids are also available in the different languages. Great for Missionaries. The price is right!!

e-Sword After trying other freeware Bible study programs, e-Sword is my personal favorite. It too offers a number of translations, Hebrew and Greek texts, a good selection of commentaries, Bible dictionaries and encyclopedias, devotional materials, background materials, maps, and lexicons. It also makes doing a basic Hebrew or Greek word study a breeze (via Strong's numbers). It is a very user-friendly program. http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html

I have e-sword too. I do like it. I just wish they had a little bit better selection of commentaries.

It has multiple page tabbed browsing, built-in popup suppression, built-in Google search engine, integrated cleaner, and safe recovery (if the browser is shut down improperly, it will remember and display the last pages viewed upon next browser startup). It is based on the IE6 engine, but is faster than IE6. It is basically the IE6 upgrade that Microsoft ought to be offering. http://www.avantbrowser.com/
I changed to the Avant Browser 3/4 days ago and can't believe the difference. Much faster than IE6.

Thanks PastorK.

I have tried Mail Washer and it is terrific. I may just sell my milk cow and buy Mail Washer Pro to access multiple accounts..

I have used Spybot: Search and Distroy , Ad-Aware , Belarc Advisor , Adobe Acrobat Reader , and MusicMatch Jukebox and have found them all to be EXCELLENT.

I will be trying many of the suggestions I have seen here. Thanks for the ideas.

Backup4all at www.backup4all.com
is a good backup program.

Magnify at http://schiller.dartmouth.edu/~mam/Magnify/Magnify.html
Is a VERY nice program if you ever have difficulty seeing or reading portions of the screen due to poor vision.

I have not heard of this happening before. Did you try checking to see if it was set to block popups? Click on tools > avant browser options > browsing options, and make sure 'block unwanted popup pages' is checked.

OpenOffice.org
http://www.openoffice.org

An open source office suite based on Sun StarOffice (StarOffice 6 has some extras like templates and stuff like that but you have to pay for StarOffice 6 whereas OpenOffice is free and fully compatible with StarOffice). It comes with Writer (Word), Calc (Excel), Impress (Powerpoint) and also includes Math, Draw, HTML editor and Global. Compare the cost of OpenOffice.org (free)with the cost of MS Office. It can read and save to Microsoft formats but it's best to use the OpenOffice/StarOffice formats.

It's available for Windows, Linux, Solaris and has limited Mac support.

It does not happen when the Avant Browser is properly installed. As a matter of fact, on the lower right hand side it shows "The number of blocked popup pages." During my Internet journey it may go up to 8-10, but the good thing about it is that I don't have to deal with them - and they are not cluttering my screen. Avant is GOOD!

Now, the only thing about this free-ware is that each time you close or open the search engine, it prompts you to donate $10.00 for the continued success of Avant. Naturally you can ignore it, but I wonder just how long they will keep it free?

Barnabas,

I use the search engine all the time, its never asked me for a donation.

They must think you are rich, or generous.

Barnabas,

I agree with Enda. I have never had that happen while using the built-in Google search. Are you referring to the optional Ucmore search engine that is available for download?

All Avant Users,

I just thought I would remind you that one of the great things about of Avant is the really good support you can find at the Avant Browser Forum: http://forum.avantbrowser.com/YaBB.cgi

enda, and Pastork, yes indeed you get these windows when you first open the computer in the morning. Now, I agree that these windows can be deleted by choosing not to show, but they are designated to show when you first download the Avant Browser. Here is what you get, unless as I said you choose not to see those windows:

Most Useful Browsing Tips
Do you know?
1. Click a link in the web page with the middle mouse button, the link will be opened in a new window. See Avant Browser Options for more information.
2. Blah, blah, blah...
3. Blah, blah, blah...
4. Blah, blah, blah...
5. Blah, blah, blah...
6. Blah, blah, blah...
* Show most useful tips when Avant Browser starts.
And then the second notice follows when you close the first:

Keep Avant Browser Alive and Powerful
Avant Browser is free. If you think Avant Browser is valuable and wish to express your appreciation for the time and resources I've expended developing and supporting it over the years, I do accept and appreciate monetary donations.
Your support will keep Avant Browser alive and powerful. If you wish to make one, please select the amount you think Avant Browser worth and click Donate button. If you have a PayPal account, please choose "PayPal." With PayPal you can donate any amount to Avant Browser.
All online donations forms are SSL secured.

* Show this frame when Avant Browser starts.
So, you see, the two windows I mentioned do come in regularly - unless you disable it when you first installed the program.

Avant Browser is not bad... To take the donation request off, all you need to do is check off the green check on that screen so it won't ask you again.
The only Problem I had was that it kept asking me if I wanted to make it the default browser(While I did other stuff on my Computer) and it crashed on me at times. When it crashed I was able to recover right where I left off so that was good!

It has a very Good pop up stopper! I hear a bell noise and I see it stopped yet another banner!

Small download, Great for Slow/Older Computers

i've been intrigued enough by the previuos posts to download and try Avant Browser myself.

downloaded it... using it now... i think i'll never use ie6 again...

one of my favorite freeware is Pixia. it is a graphic software that can be compared with Photoshop 6. but what's good in it is that:

1. it is free.

2. it will consume (together with some additional features not added with the main installer) less than 20 Mb of your hard drive.

3. yes, that's true. there's no exaggeration in it: it's comparable with Photoshop 6, but with the cost less than the total cost of Photoshop itself
