As some of you know I have a 64 track digital recording studio. I have produced several cds for myslef and 2 others. I can not afford the high end mastering software but have found something that is really just as good!
GoldWave is a professional digital audio editor. It is rated as one of the best on the ZDNet Software Library. It contains so many great features, you will be amazed by all the things it can do:

I have windows me and what I am looking for is a free program that will clean my registry after I have deleted programs out of my computer...

Here are a couple of suggestions:
RegCleaner What I like about this program is its ease of use, and the fact that it has never caused any problems with my registry. It lists all the programs that are or have been installed on your pc. If you see a program listed that you know you have un-installed, all you have to do is check it and tell RegCleaner to clean. It will clean your registry of any invalid or unnecessary entries that program has left behind. Put out by the maker of JV16 Power Tools, but no longer supported (since JV16 it is no longer freeware). I still use it, though, and it may still be downloaded at:

Check out this neat free program! You know how some people put yellow stickies all over their monitors so they won't forget? Well, you don't need to do this because after you download this freeware, you can have your own yellow stickies in your computer!

I have this now, and I can even set it so it will "wake up" to alert me at the time I set it when I am on my computer...for example, I typed on a stickie: "Use your eye drops before you go to bed"..and then I set it to "Sleep" until it will wake up at 10:00 PM every night to remind me. There are other ways you can set it like for 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 week, set it at the exact time you want to see the stickie, and several other options.

The current Ripper/Encoder I used is called CDEX. Its a pretty good tool which can rip/encode on the fly. In addition it can encode into multiple formats, has built in CDDB support as well...

I've been using Spamihilator for about 3 months now. Problem is, the longer I use it, the more spam I get! Since I get more spam, it can't possibly catch all of it, and so a lot of spam is delivered to my Inbox every day.

I have been using Pegasus for some time, which is an outstanding freeware email program. However, it has a bit of a learning curve, so I was happy that Mozilla Thunderbird finally got the bugs out and also offer a download with an installer. If you scroll down the linked page, you will see offered for download both the "official releases from Mozilla.org" and "Contributed (unofficial) builds." Under the unofficial builds there is a version with an installer offered, which will allow you to uninstall easily in the future using Windows Add/Remove in the Control Panel. I am using this version, and it is terrific. It imports addresses and mail from Outlook, Outlook Express, and Eudora with just a few clicks. It is very user-friendly.

It's main difference from Google is that it doesn't rank pages based on number of pages linked to it (like Google does; the more pages linked from or to the page, the higher the Google ranking, and the higher that site appears in the listings).

Hi all.. love the thread... I wanted to let you all know that for all of the freeware that I have dnloaded and deleted and reinstalled and..... well, you get the idea, the very best most exhaustive resource for freeware is The Freeware book... it is set up alphabetically and each site has a blurb about it, and whether or not the site is strictly freeware, or if it contains nagware/shareware, this book has literally thousands of freeware files... it can be found http://freewarearena.org/PHPNuke/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=18
which is the homesite of the guy who put together the Freeware Book itself....
as far as progs go, I too will chime in re browsers, I like the Mozilla stuff, it seems faster than IE based browsers, and has the same bells and whistles... pop up blockers etc
I might mention some of the better antivirus progs, I do no think anyone mentioned them yet... though if you get the Freeware Book, any site you go to (btw, you need to be online to use the book as it has hypertext links in it to take you to the various freeware sites) will have these listed as reliable and effcient antivirus... they are, in no particular order; AVG, Avast! Home edition (my fav! it is awesome, constant updates, though the others are good as well), AntiVir Guard, Bit Defender Free Addition (which has some nice (and free!) add on features, ie protection written specifically for users of Yahoo, MSN and other IM progs).... though you can use the Bit Defender IM protection progs seperately, that is, in conjuntion with another different type of antivirus prog, everyone needs to be warned (in case they do not already know) to never install 2 antivirus programs at the same time! possible serious meltdown!!
I also like the free edition of Scotty, mentioned earlier, and spyware guard, also spyware blaster... I also use LavaSoft's Adaware and SpyBot, together they are great...

another prog I have not seen mentioned are File Managers.... I have never really liked Windows Explorer, some others you might try are 2xExplorer, Gyula's Navigator, Pablo Commander and Turno Navigator... but I do a lot of manipulating of files... moving stuff around etc, so if you do not do that sort of thing, Windows Explorer is probably enough.... and btw, the antivirus stuff I mentioned earlier will all, I think, give you the choice from within their prog, to right click on a given file, folder, or even drive, and the ability to scan for viruses from that point is very handy.... I am constantly downloading stuff, and so I need to be able to readily rt click and scan even individual files, or even the whole folder I have set aside as my default folder for downloads to make sure they are clean before I install....

Oh.... has anybody had any luck using the Import tool via the Diatheke site? I cannot seem to get it to work, I am dnloading the modules from another free Bible software package, The Sword, but do not know how I can go about getting thos modules to work in ESword..... any help would be greatly appreciated....

After D/L the module you have to click start, browse, find the zipped file, it should be in the E-Sword folder, hilite the "Zip: file, and click run. It should unzip in the right folder.
