Yes, but that's exactly what I mean! They can be read and interpreted in as many different ways as there are people. There's not just one, universal meaning. I wish I found things so simple!

Unfortunately, Andy, only simple minded people are able to see most things as simple.

If you are intelligent then you see things they cannot see, so your perception is going to be more complex than theirs.

That's why Solomon declared that with great wisdom comes great vexation of spirit.

I think, though, if you have good hermeneutics, if you know how to discern between various types of biblical literature and you learn how to take a text in its context with understanding of the original language and the historical, cultural setting in which that text was written; and you know how to compare Scripture with Scripture- many things, though very complex, can be made very clear to you.

It seems of late that there is a push by a few that the gay life style should be tolerated, and then next to be accepted, NO, NO, NEVER.

So your "policy" as to how you read scripture, then, is that our job as hetero believers is that we should simply ban outright anyone who in anyway struggles with such tendencies or lifestyle?

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away; behold, all thing are become new 11 Cor 5:17. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, Rom 8:1. Christ don't save us in our sins but from our sins. When a man is born again he abhors sin because sin is what put Christ on the cross. An example, a lot of people say they just can't quit smoking, but have you ever noticed when the doctor tells them they have cancer they quit right then. When people don't quit something it is because they don't want to quit or they don't have a good enough reason.

So you have successfully put away all sin which besets you? I understand the "new heart" thing, that is a given. Does that imply the church should only be populated by those which have complete control of any and all passions and temptations that come our way?

1 Cor 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God ? BE NOT DECIEVED: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMANITE, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

Things God detests:

16There are six things which the LORD hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, 19a false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19 (NASB)

God directed that message those persons still in their sins before Him, as he also said that some of them were now washed and cleansed by the bllod of Christ and firgiven!

Those in those lifestyles who are not repenting, have no desire nor see the need to get right with God, are the ones being addressed..

Those now saved by grace of God are to come out of that lifestyple and practice of sinning, but God does NOT expect them to be perfect, as some are delivered out immentiantly, but many struggle with still attractions, and need to be reminded that is not sin, but acting upon them would make it so!

And even if they would slip and fall, the blood of jesus can and does keep on cleansing them from all sin, butthey will need to confess and repent of that to the father, thru jesus the Son!

Verse 11 say's, And such were some of you. That means you were once a effeminate person but now that ye have been washed, sanctified, justified in the name of our Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God you are no longer that way. A person has to be careful when saying if they fall back into these things all they have to do is confess, repent. Unless one also teaches a born again person is a new creature in Christ Jesus, old things have passed away, behold all things are new, meaning God takes out the stony heart and puts in a heart of flesh and he hates what God hates, he loves what God loves and his hearts desire it to please God. Unless one teaches these things also to balance things out you will have a person that don't fear God and thinks nothing at all about living his own life style because at the end of the day he will just repent and then turn around and do it all over again tomorrow.

the saved person still can and does sin, its just we no longer are under obligation to do such, and the good news is that God still accepts us freely in jesus when we do slip and fall!

I know the saved person can and does sin but you give answers like the Atheist do and the ungodly does when trying to convince themselves they are under no obligation to do anything because ya know we are all just sinners. I cannot and will not call homosexual acts by the saved or lost, a slip and a fall.

Homosexual acts and behaviour come from SAME place your sins and mine , the sin nature/sin principle/fallen nature/flesh, and while we are saved and have new natures, still have to ongoing struggle with that old nature that wants to get us sinning again!

Thankfully, there is victory over that though considering ourselves dead to it and alive in jesus, relying upon the holy spiritempowering us, but all of us do slip and fall at times still!
