Bible for 2022

I'm already thinking of a new Bible for 2022. I need a new one and I don't want to hastily and impulsively buy one after Christmas for January 1 without any afore thought.

I'm finding that I need a larger print.

Here's what I'm looking for:
  • ESV, Holman, or NIV [even though I read the NIV last year] I would be open, if you convinced me, of a NASB or even an interlinear [if you made a good case]
  • a larger print [doesn't have to be giant print]
  • I would like a study Bible, but it doesn't have to be one. The one I'm reading this year is not and I am fine.
If you have a preference or suggestion, please drop a note here. Thanks so much.

Any preferences as to the theology of the notes and authors?

Not really. I can weed out what's not good and hang on to what is good. There are no perfect commentaries or study notes. Good ones. Great ones, even, but not perfect.

My wife and I always make our purchases here and I'm sure you will find what you need Scarlett O... So why don't you go to this link and shop around... You can even call them for a recommendation... Brother Glen:Thumbsup

I love my new Bible. It is the NKJV version of the Preaching Bible that I posted about in the KJV thread. Good KJV reference Bible?

I am doing an online study that uses the NKJV and hopefully this will be a long-time ongoing study. I wanted a Bible that was specifically designed to help me with the class as much as possible.

This Bible only says "preaching" on the title page. It is not on the cover. The cover is a lovely soft brown leather.

The text is X-large, but not super-giant. I have rapidly deteriorating vision, and the primary concern for me is to be able to see the text. The 2-color text is designed to be as readable as possible, from a distance and when looking up and then back at the text. The blue text is designed to keep you oriented. Larger would be easier for me to see, but larger would be bulkier, and with an upcoming move almost certain, this was the best choice possible.

There are a few critical references at the bottom, but few controversial references. There are no outlines or appendix or maps or ANYTHING. The Blue headings and titles are designed to keep you oriented, not teach you anything.

It is a great Bible for an online class if you need to keep looking back and forth from the Bible to the screen, and if the class discourages bringing outside teaching into the class.

How long do you expect to keep this Bible? Will it be your only one? What do you expect for priorities in 2022? I think a lot of people here might be shocked that I chose a NKJV for this year. This is what I need to learn and interact and grow as much as possible THIS year. Don't think too much about the past, and maybe not too much forward. Take stock of your current situation. What TOOL will help you meet YOUR goals for 2022?

There are two issues. Underlining text. And matters of translation. I think over all the NKJV is the best choice of the modern Bibles. Personally my newest Bible is a KJV. I have the ESV, NIV, NASB, CSB(Holman) and NKJV, and some others. I mostly use the MySword App.
