not sure about this. The Holy Spirit is Almighty God, and therefore "all-knowing". If, as He will, knows that a sinner will refuse to come to Jesus even though they are "convicted" by Him, then surely the Holy Spirit will not "convict" this person.

He ONLY convicts and enables those to whom salvation was provided and paid for!

There is not a SINGLE verse in the entire Bible, that says the Holy Spirit must first "make alive", or "quicken", or "enable" the sinner, in order that they can then "repent! This is Reformed theological rubbish! The passage from Ephesians 2 has been misused to promote this nonsense!

So in Acts when it stated that the Holy Spirit opened Mind of Lydia in Acts 16:14, was wrong?

God determines who he will make alive with Christ. Agreed?
God chooses to extend grace and grant faith. Agreed?

It is by God's grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The false teachers deny.

Only if you have a calvinistic presup on ' election ' . Arminianism is no better .

But, we are also told in Acts 7:51, "You stiff-neckedg and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you." In the context of salvation, we see that the Holy Spirit' conviction can be resisted.

Not sure I'm following you. So, for example, if someone preached repent and believe the gospel, would that person be a false teacher, not preaching faith alone?

You force God to live on your timeline.
God knows "his own" from before the foundation of the world. In the timeline of men, that earthly moment of redemption may be anywhere along the timeline of men, but that doesn't mean God failed to know who "his own" were until the human knew.
God has always known "his own."

Do you have a verse that seems to imply that God doesn't know his children until they act in a way that clues God in to their belief?
