    After having lived where you do, it is clear that your theology originates right from where you live.

    The pagans where I live would be appalled at your dastardly caricature of God. There has never been segregation here. Obviously your opinion is highly slanted by your personal experiences and not any kind of objective research.

    Well, I'm glad to hear that, because anyone wandering across your posts would have a skewed view of this board and its members.

    Nice eisegesis of Acts 17:26-27. What does that have to do with your point?

    Acts 17:
    24: God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
    25: Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
    26: And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth , and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
    27: That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
    28: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
    29: Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
    30: And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
    31: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

    Galatians 3:

    28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus .

    Those who teach separation by race are in error, for this is not according to the Word of God.

    A servant of Christ,
    Drew

    Personal for Bryan - What kind of Baptist are you? The positions you're espousing don't register in my mind in any typical Baptist group.

    You said your views would probably not be well received. You were right! But this is a "debate" forum and you are welcome to post and help us understand where you're coming from!

    Dr Bob,

    There are vestiges of this kind of thing still hanging around some independent Baptist churches. I remember all of the arguements well. I left a church when I guest speaker's topic was "Did Abraham marry a n_________?"

    Sadly, this kind of things still hangs around.

    dianetavegia;

    (D) Includes believers professing to be Christians who disobey and compromise clear Biblical teaching.

    Is that like "I won't join any congregation that would have me as a member"? (I'm a sinner, you know.)

    bryan1276;

    It looks like someone needs to read about Moses' marriage to an Ethiopian woman.

    I want to be as gentle as possible with this. My beliefs are not a product of where I live as someone suggested. I was a product of public school thinking for years and believed that segragation was the devil. That when not coerced, blacks, whites, asians and such would naturally hang out with each other of their own free will. Although my beliefs are not a product of where I live, some of those folks who do live down south in Mississippi and Texas and some places in the south have some practical knowledge of these things. You learn by observing that integration is not a natural disposition anywhere in the world. You find communities of chinese in the US, you find communities of Irish, communities of japanese, communities of philippinos, communities of egyptians, communities of Italians, communities of mongolians, etc. By observations a man can see very obviously that the disposition of the races is to group together. Acts 17 tells you that God divided the nations. And he set boundaries on their habitation. Very simple again. Yes he made them all of one blood, and thus Jesus Christ's blood can save anyman with blood in his veins on this earth. Folks like to cite the "one blood" part of Acts but stop there and dont quote the rest of the verses that Im citing here. The Gentile brides in the OT are very good pictures of the church in each case. Moses Egyptian bride comes before the commandment in the Law not to intermarry. But the Lord says in Zephaniah 3:8 for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may pour upon them mine indignation; even all my fierce anger. The Lord does this using the devil. The devil claims to break the bounds of the people in Isaiah 10:13 and the Lord claims the only purpose of national integration is to destroy the nations. This is notable since God claimed in Acts that the divisions were made to make men seek after God. One trend of this world set in motion by the spirit of a man soon to show up on this earth called the antichrist is to destroy the beautiful diversity that God created and muddle it up into a grey mongrel mush without distinction. The origination of all nations came from Noah's sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. A characteristic of each national identity is also given to each man in Gen 9:25-27. Blessed be the God of Shem. Shem is the Mongoloid (Asian). The Jews came from Shem and it is the God of Shem that is blessed. This also is applied to Shemites in that they have more spiritual sense than the other brothers. Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, etc are all religions of Shem. Japheth is not given any such spiritual sense. Japheth produces some philosophers that are years behind Shem for any of you who've done any study in Eastern religions and European philosophies. Japheth, the European, shall enlarge his tents--he's the discoverer. Columbus (an Italian) sailed the ocean blue. The Russians and the Americans were the first to enlarge their tents into space. Both from japheth. Japheth is the territorial conquerer. He has just about travelled everywhere in this world now. Canaan is cursed as the servant of servants b/c of what happened between Ham and Noah. (Since it had to do with Hams seed, it is his seed that is cursed. Genesis 9:22-24). He has an unfortunate history to say the least of it. Ham goes down into Africa. Egypt in Africa is the origin of slavery--servant of servants. Canaan begins enslaving his own people. Genesis 9-10 tells much more about the history of these 3 men. But at the end of Genesis 10, last verse, you are told that "by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood." Acts 17 tells you the division was for a good purpose that men would seek God. Immediately in Genesis 11 you find a Hamite man named Nimrod having left Africa and dwelt in Shem's land and it is Nimrod who integrates all the world together in utter rejection of God. The truth of this has played out so many times in history all a person has to do is have the courage to accept the facts of what the Lord did and what the devil has done to undo it. This is all what I know from Gods written words. I dont preach to folks against intermarriage or try to stir things up by bringing up the subject b/c in this country there is no way to change the things that have been done. Since someone else brought up the thread, I thought I'd give a biblical perspective to it and not a evening news broadcast. There are folks that take this entirely too far such as groups like white power folks or black power folks or kkk or whatever other groups hate people. the trends of today of integration and synthesism and ecumenicism and bringing the world together at the united nations and putting canaan (kofee anan is a hamite) in charge is in the completely wrong direction the Lord is going.

    Having lived and pastored where you live for ten years I was apalled at some of the talk among Christians about racial issues among those in the church. I was also shocked at some of the theology that surrounded those issues claiming it was biblical and okay. Not too fasr from where you live a friend of mine led a black youth to Christ and the deacons wouldn't let the youth inside to worship with them.

    Of course people will surround themselves with people just like themselves. In places where they have not known racial prjudice there is not those same stereotypes.

    I will give you an exampple of what I mean. Several years ago I worked for a man who was black. He was a general conractor hired to build a Moose Lodge. Once the building was started and they had the ground breaking ceremony they sent pictures back to the headquarters in the midwest (not far from where you live) and they refused to give them more money because the contractor was a black man. That man was one of the most repected men in the area. He was an architect and contractor. He had never had that happen on the west coast.

    Your idea of segregation is not biblical. It is worldly and should never be seen in any church anywhere in the world.

    People group more according to socioeconomic issues rather than just skin color.

    Just remember how Jesus addressed the Samaritan woman. He addressed all groups of people.
