Why would he not want the recount?
Because it is a private recount, run by a QAnon conspiracist, out of the control of elections officials, who are handling the real ballots that may have personally-identifiable information on them (mail in ballots). Under federal law, ballots must remain under the control of elections officials for 22 months after the election. If an organization is authorized to review the ballots, it must be done under the controls and protocols established by elections officials. That does not seem to be the case in Arizona.

Last I checked, the Constitution says that the legislature are part of election officials.....the MAIN election officials.

and not only that - but elections are the responsibility of the individual State/commonwealth

That that federal law, might just be unconstitutional
Ah, details. I'd dare say there are MANY federal laws that are illegal and just have not yet been challenged.

Seems we've seen enough of how "elections officials," especially those with any Dem or RINO affiliation, "handle" ballots and their counting to realize that they cannot be trusted without further accountability controls. Might just as well ask the kingpins Putin and Xi whom they prefer to run their vassal state.

I don't get the reasoning. It cannot change the past election (per the US Constitution). Those of us who believe fraud was involved could have our beliefs strengthened, those who don't would just see fraud in a much too late recount. Each side would strengthen its propaganda.

Even Arizona's idea about future elections (the "power" to recount under specific circumstances after a President has been confirmed by Congress is silly (as Congress would have to agree and reconvene to consider new electors).

It is stupid. We do need recounts to explore fraud or the potential for fraud, but neither side can be trusted. The GOP and the DNC are parties of power hungry crooks.

If I'm not mistaken - this is only one county - now if the entire state was recounted......

If enough significant fraud were exposed, it would call into question, not just the integrity of the election and establish the need for a complete overhaul to ensure future elections, it would also call into question the entire Dem Progressive Left operation and everything enabling it. The latter should already be happening but instead a false narrative pushing for just the opposite currently holds sway.

The election is always corrupt. Democrats and Republicans will always look to win come what may. It's politics, not ethics.

But I agree that it needs to be examined for future elections.

I agree Trump is done in terms of being a viable candidate for President. President Biden is, obviously, no better (or worse, really).

I guess the question in terms of Trump is what role he will play in the GOP. He could work with the GOP or he could end up solidifying a DNC win in the next few years. It will be interesting.

I don't see how He could win a second term.

He alienated much of the GOP, so do you think he would run as a GOP candidate?
