Due to the current legal situation, there was no way he could have stopped the distribution of the pill. All he could do was slow down its tacking.

during the 4 years that Trump was President, did he try to get this legal situation changed? Did he not have a majority in the Senate, who would have voted for the change?

It would have taken both houses of Congress to change the law. And then it would have been challenged in the courts and taken to the Supreme Court which would not have upheld the law in light of Roe v Wade.

your country has a very strange legal system. I always thought the the Senate, and not the House of Representatives, were the lawmakers? The former is the equivalent to our House of Commons, who are the lawmakers, and the latter, to our House of Lords. Also, did not Trump appoint some Conservative Justices to the Supreme Court, who should overturn Roe v Wade? If the Conservatives can't get it done, then it will never change!

Laws can originate in either chamber and then be passed by the other. Except for taxes which much originate in the House. The Supreme Court is loath to overturn long-standing precedents.

Wait, don’t tell me you read something like this and got everything all muddled. You've certainly managed the latter in any case. :Wink

Perhaps this link will provide a better understanding. Near the bottom is the section on “How a bill becomes law.”

But understanding “the three branches of government” would make that part clearer. And note that the Supreme Court not only interprets law but can rule a law unconstitutional.

As President, He could attempt to make morer restrictions on abortion, and did nominate and get seated pro ;life Judges, but final say resides on the Supreme Court, unless we had an Amendment passed outlawing abortion!

New doctrine: saved by grace through faith for dead babies. Must be in the Greek.
Backbite Trump to win a point.

Thus saith the Lord;
For three transgressions of the children of Ammon,
and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof;
because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead,
that they might enlarge their border.
Amos 1:13

Amos 1:13

Jesus blessed the infants and little children and said out of their mouths are perfected praises to God.
He did this to silence the enemies of God , avenger, accuser is the devil, (people and the devil who believe God sends infants to hellfire)

Matthew 21
15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?”

And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read,

‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have perfected praise’?”

17 Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there.

v16, refers to this in the OT, which Christ changed the wording a little

Psalm 8:2
Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

Matthew 19
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
