Vice President Joe Biden acknowledged today that Democrats could face political repercussions in 2010 for their support of the $900 billion economic stimulus package. Vice President Joe Biden speaks about the benefits of the economic stimulus bill at a local train station in Laurel, Md., Thursday. (AP)

“But when we do [approve it], I’m sure you’re going to be nailed in ads, ‘Well they voted on that’ 30 second ads,” Biden told roughly 200 members of the House Democratic Caucus gathered here for their three day annual retreat. “I promise you as [a colleague] once said to me, ‘I’ll come campaign for you or against you, whichever will help you the most in your district.’ And so will the president because, again, we’re all in this together.”

The vice president also offered some trademark candor about the prospects of success.
He recalled a recent White House meeting with the president and senior aides in which they were discussing the many challenges the country faces. “If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, there’s still a 30% chance we’re going to get it wrong,” was his message at the meeting.

So what is the difference of that and your buddy Bush who crammed a n 850 billion bailout down our throats last year. By the way, 150 billion of that bought votes with pork. The chance of getting it wrong with that bill is 100%. The money is gone with nothing to show but another trillion of national debt.

When is it going to get through some thick skulls that Republican and conservative are not synonyms.

appears off topic,,,,,

yep, off topic alright.

On topic, dems do not care what the american people think or believe, this shows an example of it right here, democratic voter backlash, and they don't care, even their own voters disagree with them.
They won't recover as a party from wasting $900B any time soon.

SaturnNeptune is right. What is the difference ? Even Biden thinks this has over a 25% chance of failing, just like "conservative" G.W. Bush's did. We haven't learned a thing.

Bolded mine

So, in light of the bolded part of your quote, what is the point of your post?

I, for one, totally agree that the bail-out was a classic boondoggle, and just because Bush did it is no excuse to compound the error.

Bub apparently you do not really pay attention to my posts. I do not and have not supported Bush on very many things. He is a liberal and I have left the republican party long ago. Think and know before you post.

Unlike Bush, Biden is showing real leadership. He is being honest. I understand this is something the republicans have forgotten about, considering their recent past leaders like Bush, Cheney, and Rove!

The only thing off topic is to be so blind to reality that you cannot see that the Republicans and Democrats are doing the exact same thing to this country.

I think I know government and current issues which relates to my job much better than you know theology which relates to your job.

My post has a major point to be made, that there is no difference between the Republican bailout last year and the Democratic bailout this year. They will both result in no effect, but only added deficit.

It seems the only point to your post is to show you know how to make bold print on posts.

How was the bailout last year a "Republican" bailout? Out of the three parties responsible for it, only the President was a Republican (in name only!). The House and the Senate were controlled by Democrats.

Without Bush, it could not have passed. On top of that, Mitch McConnell, minority leader in the Senate, orchestrated major Republican support in the Senate for the bailout bill. On top of that, it was officials of the Bush administration that started the idea.

We expect such behavior of democrats, not republicans. Over the years, the two have become one.

You have your job listed as "Electronics tech". Maybe you don't even know what relates to your job??

I agree with you on that. They are all (for the mos part) crooks and liars. But, 2 parts Democrat + 1 part Republican still doesn't equal Republican.

Can't imagine any candidate desirous of Biden's endorsement.
