Ketanji Brown Jackson's resume includes service on the advisory board of a Southern Baptist church's Christian school!

Is Ketanji Brown Jackson an evangelical Christian? - Current

"When she spoke at the first day of her Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing as a nominee for Supreme Court justice, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson stated her belief in God and her gratitude for divine blessings. 'I must also pause to reaffirm my thanks to God, for it is faith that sustains me at this moment', she said on Monday (March 21)...'my life has been blessed beyond measure'."

"The speech included in the Judiciary Committee records where Jackson expounded most on faith was at the 2011 graduation ceremony at Montrose Christian School"

"'You are here in the sanctuary of Montrose Baptist Church, in the shadow of the Cross, where people come to worship and give thanks', she said. 'Remember that it is here, in the church, that your teachers, friends, and loved ones prayed for you and wished you well as you began this next phase of your life', she said. 'When you’re out there, and you’re struggling (as we all do), look back — recall that you have never been alone, and be grateful for what God has done for you'."

"She recalled the prayers of her parents and remembered how, as a sobbing Harvard freshman undergrad turning 18, she was comforted by an answering machine message on which her mother sang for her. 'Her song was the encouragement that I needed in that moment, and even in my loneliness, I thanked God for the opportunity he’d given me, for the firm foundation he had provided, and also for how far I had come'."

"During Jackson’s time on the advisory board, the pastor of Montrose Baptist Church was [and still is] Dr. Ken Fentress, an African American graduate of conservative Southern Baptist schools (Criswell College and Al Mohler’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)"

Meet the Pastor - Montrose Baptist Church

"Dr. Fentress has dedicated his life to the fervent study and proclamation of God’s Word. He believes that the faithful, expositional preaching of God’s Word has the power to save souls and transform lives. Dr. Fentress has previously served as the Dean of Intercultural Programs and Associate Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament Interpretation at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky."

Historically, Evangelicals are descended from the “fundamentalists” of the mainline churches — churches of the Reformation. The Baptist movement is descended from the Radical Reformation therefore, Baptists are not “Evangelicals.”

Individual Southern Baptists often identify themselves as “evangelicals,” but the Southern Baptist Convention has not joined the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE), so the SBC is not an “evangelical” organization according to association.

Southern Baptists usually have a lot of theological overlap with evangelicals, so pollsters and statisticians usually lump Southern Baptists into the Evangelical box, but African-American churches (which often have the same theology) are NOT lumped into the same box.

So Ketanji Brown Jackson would not likely identify herself as an evangelical, but that says little about her theology or beliefs.

For the record, I have never considered myself an evangelical even though I share much of the same theology. I do not because it is inaccurate historically and ecclesiastically. It also diminishes my Baptist heritage, which is distinct from Evangelicals. The spiritual ancestors of evangelicals often persecuted Baptists.

Jackson Invokes Her Christian Faith, Stays Mum on Specifics

"Jackson identifies as a nondenominational Protestant, she told the committee on Tuesday, when questioned by Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C....She said her faith is important but noted the Constitution prohibits any religious test for public office. Graham agreed"

"Historically, the majority of the justices have been Protestant. But today, the court has six Catholic, one Protestant* and two Jewish justices, although the latter number will go down by one when Justice Stephen Breyer's retirement takes effect."

And she supports gay rights and abortion on demand. If she is a Christian, I sure want no part of her church.

I think the Bible supports the premise that not all professing "Christians" are actually "Christians," and if I recall correctly Mr. Obama claimed at first to be a "committed Christians."

and she did the same thing - give some child porn defendant the lightest sentence possible and later apologize to the perp.

She is awful, find her to be snarky and entitled. She was so bad that she tried to overturn some Trump immigration statue that clearly said the code was at the agency's sole discretion. Other liberal judges concurred, this person did not. She's a left-wing activist that won't even say if she wants to stack the court.

So bad even Mitch the Turtle is against her, he's going to vote against this black woman who can't call herself a woman because she's not a biologist???
