Bill Gaither Music

Bill and Gloria Gaither have greatly impacted Christian music since bursting on the scene in the 60's. And still going strong, if the infomercial for his compilations running on TNN is any indication.

Does your church use any Gaither music?

Old style or new style?

And, if you know, what is your favorite Gaither song?

I like "Because He Lives."

I hardly ever take note of song authors, so I am not sure how much Gaither music done at my church.

In our church, Gaither songs are used; but not any soundtracks. Sometimes when we sing his songs, (As with any artist) you have to sort of tone them down to make them appropriate for the service.

I do listen to his music though, and am a big fan of Southern Gospel.

I would have to echo blessedhope's post. Our churches sound very similar.

I have listened to Gaither tunes for 30 years. I would be hard pressed to pick just one 'favorite' song.

This truly blows my mind. There are people in Baptist circles who have not heard of Bill Gaither? Not my favorite but he has definitely had a colossal impact on Christian music.
