Reflecting sunlight being the goal, reflect too much sun, and we have a nuclear winter scenario, mass starving times, and another ice age.

The changes he wants are way of life changing events, he seeks to change times and laws. Personally, they are convinced the earth is going to perish due to global warming, so their efforts seem certain to do that very thing. How appropriate the article calls this 'end times', the end of days type things.

If you read it, of course, you will find that Gates is not "going forward with plan to 'block out the sun'" but is backing an experiment that will put 4.4 pounds of particles into the air to see how they interact with the atmosphere.

As far as lab meat, what exactly is the problem?

If lab grown meat is not a problem for you, nothing I say will change your mind.

Here is a lot more detail on the experiment, the 'terrifying' thing that has people worried, is doing this on a very large scale, not this first step.

About fake meat, Gates wants this forced on people.
One way to force people towards eating his fake meat is drive prices so high by government regulations, few except the rich people can afford any real meat. Beef is already pretty pricey today.

In an interview with MIT Technology Review, he goes so far as to say that people’s behaviors should be changed to learn to like fake meat and, if that doesn’t work, regulations could do the trick.

He is invested heavily in these kinds of way of life shattering things, seeks to change the times and laws.
Anytime someone forbids eating certain foods (meats) or alters the sexual dynamic ( forbidding marriage), be wary of demonic teaching ideas manifesting into the situation.
Forbidding as in saying no you cant do that, not allowing etc... certain foods and also sexual norms are major upheavals they try to alter away from what God has declared are to be followed.

Especially if he were really old like the emperor in Star Wars. ;)
