Billy Graham Organization's Hypocrisy

A news story came out last week referencing the Billy Graham Organization taking down Mormonism as a cult on its website shortly after a meeting with Mitt Romney.

Will this affect BG's legacy? Will this hypocrisy be a stumbling block for the lost?

Billy Graham’s website scrubs Mormon ‘cult’ reference
BY DANIEL BURKE

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association removed language labeling Mormonism a “cult” from its website after the famed preacher met with Republican nominee Mitt Romney and the association pledged to help his presidential campaign.

The removal came after a gay rights group reported that the “cult” reference remained online even after Graham all but endorsed Romney, a Mormon, last week.

LOL, how dare you try to interfere with their all consuming hatred of BO & his administration by stating the obvious! Very insolent of you. :tonofbricks:

Let's keep this off politics cause it'll get moved and then closed for not being pro- a certain candidate.

I just think it highlights the reason why the Body of Christ has to stay focused and stay on message. This is how you place a stumbling block of monumental proportion in front of the lost.

I know Reverend Graham has been a pastor to the presidents but I wonder if he's had much contact with President Obama at all. I know he's not been well (from what his daughter Anne told me) but still, he can speak for a short time on the phone and I wonder how much the President has been seeking him out.

to your point Ann, the Good reverend is 95 years old. Now Franklin Graham is younger & I believe has an active hand.

If perchance that was directed at me, please note Im not SBC. Maybe it is directed at some other person ...just touching all bases. Enough said.

In proclaiming God's truth, sometimes even those of the same denomination get their toes stepped on. But you just can't concern yourself with that because wrong is just wrong. Continue to speak the truth.

Zak,
You stated that the BGEA is guilty of hypocrisy.
For those of us who do not have the high level of intelligence as you, please inform us exactly what that hypocrisy is.

Also, inquiring BB members would like to know more about you.
So why not fill out your profile in more detail?

Me thinks you're intelligent enough to figure it out just like I'm capable of knowing when folks are playing dumb with ulterior motives.

Let's stay on topic. If you have other questions, start another thread.

Well I do know two things-

1. That if you aren't a Baptist you should not be posting in this section of the board. Since your profile is not indicative, perhaps a moderator should step in and clarify if you should even be posting in this section.

2. And if this isn't a political post, then I am not an old white guy. It should be moved to where it belongs. It's certainly not a "General Baptist Discussion."

Yes, I'm sure if you say it loud enough one of the clique's mod friends will convince another mod to move it so that you can start the regular clique mess.

It's about what the OP says it's about. So if you can't keep it on topic, I'll ask that your posts be deleted.:wavey:

Well, I worked for BGEA for 7 years and could write a book on his and especially Franklin's hypocrisy and lies along with several friends who used to work there. If Billy is a baptist then why did he never teach that baptism was a believers first step of obedience rather than coming forward?

Billy loves catholicism as does Franklin, I ran the bookstore at the HQ in Minneapolis from 1996-2003. I found more and more hypocrisy the longer I stayed. Thankfully the LORD opened the door for me to leave as He opened the door for me to come. Many people worshiped BG and still do, I am not one of them. Read the links below:

Mex brings up an important point and it is completely on topic if you post in theBaptist only section.

Are you Baptist?

When you go to his profile you can only see his contact info and stats. Nothing else is available. Wonder why?

I'll assume you have the right to post here and answer your questions-

1. No, it will no more affect on his legacy than you will have on this year's election with your anti-Romney raves here on the BB.

2. It will be no more a stumbling block than we are. How many lost people really care what BGEA thinks- or even know that it exists?
