What’s the latest word here anyone know?

It does not look good just driving by, but maybe I just hit it at a bad time?

Sam Dawson, Chairman of the BJU Trustee Board, at 3m:

"I just want to thank Dr. Josh Crockett, um, for...communicating to the Board that his primary burden is for pastoral ministry...Dr. Crockett will assume the Senior Pastor role at Morningside on July the 1st...and he will take up a part-time role here at Bob Jones University that will not include the title of President...Josh's title and the exact responsibilities here at the university will be worked out by the new President in coordination with the Board."

"Now, turning to the introduction of the new President...Yesterday afternoon we met as a full Board, and I am pleased to tell you that the Board unanimously elected Dr. Bruce McAllister as the seventh President of Bob Jones University...He is a man who lives and breathes Bob Jones University. He was sold on the University the first day he arrived on campus as a student, and has now completed 48 years of faithful service to this institution...By God's grace we hope that he will be the President of the University when we celebrate our 100th Anniversary...Bruce has proven that he is 100% committed to the authority of God's Word, to the BJU mission, and to the BJU experience. He is well known and trusted by our constituency, particularly our alumni pastors."

The new President, Bruce McAllister, at 38m30s:

"We're going to do what we can, to all pitch in and make this place sparkle again. This includes inside the classrooms, offices, hallways, bathrooms, as well as the outdoors...We will have volunteer work days as needed, and we will pull weeds, and pick up trash. And if we can, we'll paint, or mulch, or plant flowers and greenery...and prepare the campus for the centennial celebration".

Had not known this brother, but added to my prayer list. Daunting task. Each of us "veteran" pastors/leaders have differing levels of energy for the task. I know he is at least 70 years old and to take on this task at that age will be a challenge.

BJU has prided itself in "non-denominational fundamentalism", but many of its leaders, staff and students are Baptist. It is NOT "Baptist" but of great interest and relationship with us Baptists.
