Good. Then you should understand how we got into the current economic condition. We chose to spend our money on needless wars instead of rebuilding our crumbling bridges, electrical network and water supply network. Terrific. What did we get for that? Some people like Cheney got rich but most of us are left in a declining nation with a crumbling infrastructure.

And - has Obama fixed or perpetuated that situation?

It's even Bush's fault that race relations are worse now than they were when he left office, right?

Try that one.

At least that would be on topic.

He has added over $7,000,000,000,000 {seven trillion} to the national debt; $1,000,000,000,000 of that supposedly for shovel ready jobs and then he smirked years later that "there were no shovel ready jobs"!

I still believe Obamma has been very successful at what he started out to do, make this country a 3rd rate socialist state!

Racially, he made a simmering resentment even worse. He and his party have blamed "racism" for his every failure. They have sought to use the charge of racism to curb any disagreement with his policies.

As one liberal writer put it:

Yet many, many liberals believe that only race can explain the ferocity of Republican opposition to Obama. It thus follows that anything Republicans say about Obama that could be explained by racism is probably racism. And since racists wouldn’t like anything Obama does, that renders just about any criticism of Obama—which is to say, nearly everything Republicans say about Obama—presumptively racist.

Anything to silence the opposition. We've seen it right here on this board and right here in this thread.

Why is it that Republicans met and agreed to oppose anything and everything Obama proposed before he took office?

I believe that the first economic stimulus at the end of 2007 allowed us to avoid an all-out depression. If you look at the details of this it was the Democrats after the Obama victory who took the lead on this effort. It wasn't really a fix however. It simply put off the real collapse. To answer your question, NO Obama has not fixed this situation. I'm not sure it was fixable after the last "Long Recession." The Fed has extended the time to the full impact of this collapse. Personally, I believe the appropriate response was to allow the depression to happen sooner rather than later. The Obama administration should have taken on the Fed and stopped this madness.
