KAY S. HYMOWITZ

The Black Family: 40 Years of Lies
Rejecting the Moynihan report caused untold, needless misery.

15 years after the Moynihan report:

Effects of Single Parenthood

1.Crime.

Boys who grow up without a father are twice as likely to end up in jail
than those who come from two-parent families.

2.Behavior.

85 percent of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from
fatherless homes.

3.Education.

71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes.

4.Poverty.

In 2011, 12 percent of children in married-couple families were living in poverty, compared to 44 percent of children in mother-only families.

So by adding Southern you are saying you were incorrect with the first statement.

Crabby claims to be from the South? Perhaps he is one of the TV Southerners called "Waltons" who suffered greatly throughout the Roosevelt depression.

Skin color shouldn't matter.

If I did in fact break a board rule, I apologize for the infraction. I do believe in rules being kept but I also believe in rules being reinforced for everyone equally.
Apologizing for something you did wrong takes you out of the Zaac/Crabtownboy clique. Still waiting to see their first.

That is exactly what he said - didn't you see the quote? If I change any part of a quote, I always indicate. Or could it be he made an incorrect statement?

No, he said legal and then you tried to cram words in his mouth through inference. Anything Japanese whether it be legal or illegal in the US at that time, especially on the west coast got a pretty raw deal. I think some people are letting their dislike of Crabby (who consistently puts his own foot in his own mouth) interfere with events that really happened. I'm not going to respond to his post because it is just playing the tedious game of keeping score but lets not whitewash history. He said plenty of stuff worthy of being taken to task for.

Actually, I like Crabby -and often I have been in agreement with him.

I trust someday - this side of Glory, he and I will have the opportunity to meet in person.:1_grouphug:

It's good that you can see the bigger picture. Wish there was more of that around here. Good stuff Salty.

The problem with everything you just said is that there were white people opposing all that as well. To hold all white people accountable for those is the same as holding all black people accountable for the race riots going on right now.

Yet without discrimination, the majority of folks on here and on FOX News and in the GOP continue to contribute anything negative about Blacks to be symptomatic of ALL Blacks and the Black community at large.

You have directly said that carpro is not a Christian. My understanding is that accusation is grounds for banishment. I have reported your post to the administrators! Hopefully others will also. It seems that accusation is being made or hinted at more than normal on this BB!

Your understanding, as with most things, is incorrect.

And let carpro give testimony as to what he may or may not be. If he doesn't believe he is to abide by God's word, then that speaks to whatever needs to be spoken or not spoken.

You haven' t been here long enough to make any kind of valid observation about posters you disagree with. Especially that kind.

You continue to show us that you don't belong here and that your "apology" is insincere.

You don't even have sense enough to quit while you're ahead . You just keep digging.

Typical.

Can't defeat the facts in the message, so attack the messenger.

It's all you have.

It's all good. If your kind wasn't making personal attacks on me, I'd be doing something wrong. It validates every point I make.

So, thanks for making my day. :)

The black family managed to survive several centuries of slavery and generations of the harshest racism and Jim Crow, to ultimately become destroyed by the welfare state. The black family has fallen victim to the vision fostered by some intellectuals that, in the words of a sociology professor in the 1960s, "it has yet to be shown that the absence of a father was directly responsible for any of the supposed deficiencies of broken homes." The real issue to these intellectuals "is not the lack of male presence but the lack of male income." That suggests that fathers can be replaced by a welfare check. The weakened black family gives rise to problems such has high crime, predation and other forms of anti-social behavior.

The cultural problems that affect many black people are challenging and not pleasant to talk about, but incorrectly attributing those problems to racism and racial discrimination, a need for more political power, and a need for greater public spending condemns millions of blacks to the degradation and despair of the welfare state.
