BLACK RIOTERS IN BALTIMORE SMASH POLICE CARS, ATTACK MOTORISTS IN FRENZIED PROTEST

Baltimore (AFP) — Protesters smashed police cars and shop windows in downtown Baltimore on Saturday when the biggest demonstration over the death of a young African-American man in police custody turned violent.

More than 1,000 people joined an orderly 90-minute rally at Baltimore city hall demanding justice for Freddie Gray, who died last Sunday from spinal injuries, a week after his arrest in the city’s impoverished west side.

But the mood shifted dramatically when several scores of protesters moved on to the Camden Yards baseball stadium, an hour before the scheduled start of a Baltimore Orioles-Boston Red Sox game.

Live images from local television news helicopters showed a youthful crowd hurling soda bottles and trash cans at police officers alongside the Sports Legends museum and Camden Yards ticket booths.

“Protesters are now breaking windows and throwing items at us,” the Baltimore police department confirmed on its Twitter feed. “We are asking everyone to remain peaceful.”

Others were seen smashing shop windows and blocked intersections, with one motorist getting a rock through her car window, CBS affiliate WBAL reported.

Five police cars were seen by an AFP photographer getting their windows smashed, before riot police moved in.

Yep, this is what happens when the majority treats the minority as though their lives don't matter.

Same thing happened during slavery. Same thing happened during Jim Crow.

Poke a bear enough times and it will start to fight back.

Well done.

Later:
Thugs and hoodlums acting like thugs and hoodlums under the cover of protesting racial injustice always hurts their agenda more than it helps.

But the truth is, they couldn't care less about the dead man, they just want to openly commit senseless acts of violence against the innocent. Why? That is their nature and their agenda.

Sounds like you are justifying their actions.

This action neither represents all blacks nor all minorities. These are but a fringe few acting childish and throwing a temper tantrum because they can;t get their way and needed an event to give them an excuse. Not all blacks or minorities in fact most of them do not agree with this stupidity.

What do you care? To hear you tell it, there's nothing to be protesting.

You don't know anything about their truth.

Why? That is their nature and their agenda.

The world already knows what racially prejudiced and racist white men think of Blacks in the US.

That is exactly what he is doing and will continue to do. Zaac is one of the worst enemies of racial harmony.

Justifying senseless violence in the name of creating racial harmony has the reverse effect. It sets it back.

The 1000 protesters that peacefully demonstrated at city hall did it right. The thugs at the ball park just negated their accomplishments.

Stop participating in the systemic racism and racially prejudiced oppression and there wouldn't be any such violence as this. But white privilege doesn't see anything until folks start messing with the money.

Why the rioting in Ferguson solves absolutely nothing, and takes away from our quest for justice

RIOTS. They’ve been taking place since Sunday. And they are horrible. While I understand that folks are upset over what happened to Michael Brown, I do not condone looting. Especially the looting of businesses in our own neighbors. Granted, we own very little in our communities, but the innocent businessmen and women should not suffer for the injustice committed by an entirely different entity. Gas stations have been set on fire. Businesses robbed and destroyed, but the “outrage” has not stopped there.

I have friends who are literally afraid for their loved ones living in Ferguson because they have had to fight off people attempting to break into their home. How the hell is robbing your neighbor going to aid us in our fight for equality?

Many have stated that anyone in opposition is victim blaming. How?! It is simply stating that an alternative solution is necessary for us to see progress.

I get it. We are tired. Tired of the injustice. Tired of racial profiling. But what will robbing your neighbor solve? Absolutely nothing. More people could be hurt or even killed. It’s not the way to go.

Emotions are high and we are angry, but we cannot legitimize THEIR actions by responding from an emotional place. That’s exactly what rioting does. When combating systematic racism, we have to channel our emotions to spark effective long-lasting change. Otherwise we’re just giving our oppressors an excuse to rise against us.

If anything, rioting and looting is TAKING AWAY from our fight for justice.

The same thing goes for Baltimore.

Possible, but not likely. Texans can, by law, use lethal force to protect their lives and their property.

Senseless looting and violence would be ill advised, to say the least.

:tear: The underlying agenda .... outweighs the REAL issues!
And this is a shame! :tear:

No one wins .... everyone loses!

You mean like folks on here justify the actions of the folks who kill them?

Well, Zaac - ARE YOU justifying their actions?

A simple yes or no will do
