"Blessed is Egypt My people..."

Greetings to all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I am looking for anyone's views on Isaiah 19:25. Particularly the implications of God saying that Egypt at the time was "My people" and that Assyria is the "work of My hands".
(Isa 19:25 NKJV) 25 whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed [is] Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance."

Grace and hope in our Lord Jesus Christ

These scriptures are prophetic and appear to be coming into view. It's best to consider the entire chapter concerning Egypt.

The evil spirit referenced is the spiritual cancer known as Islam. Fortunately, Egypt is saved out of Islam and worships the LORD. Clearly signifying the end of Islam.

Egypt was greatly used by God and will be again, as the prophecy prescribes. The Patriarchs found refuge in Egypt. Joseph prospered in Egypt and married a daughter of an Egyptian priest, she bare him Ephraim and Manasseh. Even the Lord Jesus Christ found refuge in Egypt until the first Herod was dead.

Whilst Egypt is still currently Islamic, it has stopped attacking Israel and has been in a lukewarm peace with Israel for several decades.

IMO, the key to everything falling into place is the prophesied Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 Gog-Magog Alliance of nations war. I believe that war will be the death of Islam as most of the nations in that Alliance are Islamic and they will come forth in the confidence and name of their false god Allah. This Alliance is already aligned and chomping at the bit to attempt to devour Israel.

Finally, and also falling into place, is the isolation of, and aggression towards, the Kurds by the rest of the Islamic nations that surround them. The Kurds have been friendly with, and useful to the United States, and have not been antagonist towards Israel like the nations that surround them. The Kurds live in the territory of the old Assyrian Empire. Israel and the Kurds are both isolated and hated by the Gog-Magog Alliance of nations, which makes them potential allies.

Once the Lord slaughters the Gog-Magog Alliance of nations, and Islam is neutered, the Jews will be able to build the Third Temple upon the Temple Mount. It will not happen until Islam is neutered, and the Gog-Magog Alliance of nations war will accomplish that.

The beautiful thing is it is staged and could happen very soon.

I'm reluctant to make detailed predictions about the end times. No doubt the Lord has it all worked out, and our job is to be ready (Matt. 24:36-44). I think the Isaiah 19 text is in line with verses like Genesis 12:3. We are seeing many Muslims and others becoming Christians these days, often in the teeth of the most vicious persecution. In fact, at least 15% of Egyptians are Christians, which is double the percentage of Muslims in Britain. Unfortunately, most of the are Coptic, but hey, no one's perfect!

Isaiah 19:25 refers to all of those whom God chose before the world began - His elect from among Jews and Gentiles - and gave to His Son to be Surety.

Coptics are more perfect than most of us, I’ll wager.

Coptic Christians are an ancient ethnoreligious group native to Egypt, forming the largest Christian community in the Middle East, roughly 5-15% of Egypt's population. Established by St. Mark in 42-68 A.D., the Coptic Orthodox Church is known for its deep spirituality, strict fasting traditions, and a history of martyrdom. They primarily reside in Egypt, with a significant global diaspora.

The Coptic Church is part of the Oriental Orthodox family, holding to doctrines from the early church before the schism of 451 A.D.

Fasting is a major part of their faith, as for Coptics, fasting lasts for nearly 200 days a year.

Unlike Roman Catholics, they do not believe in papal infallibility or purgatory. They believe in the immaculate conception of Jesus, but not of the Virgin Mary. Their priests can marry. Copts celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar, meaning it falls in January.

Coptic Orthodox follow a Miaphysite view (one nature of the incarnate Word), while Catholics follow the Dyophysite view (two distinct natures in one person).

You may be right. To their own Master they stand or fall, though I think that if they are looking to their fasting or any other work to save them, they may be barking up the wrong tree . I took a brief holiday in Egypt mast month, and I was encouraged to see, along with the ubiquitous mosques, quite a few large churches. My impression is that at least 15% of Egyptians are Christians. I am told that there are quite a few evangelicals and Baptists, but I didn't see any sign of them.

Just because a denomination or sect participates in spiritual disciplines does not mean they think that these works earn their salvation.

We in the west have few spiritual disciplines, other than attending church services once or twice a week.
