My BMI (whatever that is) is 28.3, which makes me overweight; I already knew that. It didn't tell me, however, what weight I should be for my height. I rarely eat sugar and eat very little fat and still can't get my weight below 186, and I'm only 5'8". Of course, due to arthritis and bursitis pain (plus being constantly tired because of diabetes), I'm not at all active.

I calculated mine last week but I can't remember now what it was. I have 10lbs more to lose, though, to have a healthy BMI.

I saw a chart at my doctor's office once. For my height, I'd have to lose 47 lbs before I make it onto the chart and be called "grossly obese".

If they're gonna call me names when I get there.....

peace to you:praying:

Those height weight charts were developed by an insurance comapny in the 1950's in order to justify rasing rates. It was never intended to be for real medicine. It is for the most part unrealistic.

I have often wondered that, it makes sense, I wonder if there is any documentation for when it was done and motive.
