Jaw Bones is still going...

I have a friend who went there in the music program. They told him he'd never have a good enough voice and should pick a different major. He left the school and has been singing in a popular accapella group, making a full-time living for the past 15 years. He has a fantastic bass voice.

It's interesting that rights of the people guaranteed by the Constitution are inferior to the rights of the state makes up for itself without the Constitution, in the mind of the Court.

Had they been endorsing political candidates during that time, which nothing could have prevented them from doing?

Years ago - Walt Disney was fired by newspaper for not being creative enough.
Ironically, years later, the Walt Disney company bought that newspaper.

Maybe at the time - those in charge were correct - but that "failure" made the individual more determined to succeed

It was more the issue of Jaw Bones having a very narrow concept of appropriate musical style. He's not an operetic baritone conforming only to classical music.
I attended a conservative school that tried to force a student to play classical piano when the kid was amazingly good playing jazz and honky tonk. It was as though they wanted to crush the joy right out of his being.
I'm so glad I went on to another school that understood grace rather than legalism.

The school lost its tax exemption due to its policy banning interracial dating and marriage.
Yep.

Since my brother is in an interracial marriage, I side with the government. I also side with scripture, which is filled with positive interracial marriage.

If BJU prefers to have a "narrow concept" so be it -

Exactly. A college has no constitutional right to tax exemption.
Right. And society is not obliged to fund radical progressive thought in our schools either. Each tax payer should have a right to have their taxes delegated to fund the schools of their choice.

Can a religious school lose its tax exemption because it disallows 'interreligious' dating, as religion is right there with race in civil rights?

I strongly disagree with you and the swarm of activist judges on the Left. You advocate unconstitutional religious discrimination by the government, to tax one college more than other colleges because the religious beliefs of that one college.

I also strongly disagree with your pro-slavery position against religious freedom, where you only want people to be free if they agree with you, which isn't freedom at all.

It appears BJU is splitting into two entities, 'BJU Inc.' and 'Bob Jones Education Group, Inc.'?

Does anyone know why the Academy middle and high schools are being assigned to the for-profit entity?

http://www.thestate.com/news/state/south-carolina/article133654684.html

How BJU will be structured

On March 1, Bob Jones University, Inc. will be renamed Bob Jones Education Group, Inc. and will remain the university’s taxable entity and will donate about half its assets to the non-taxable BJU, Inc.

The university’s assets will effectively be split between the two organizations.

BJU, Inc. will include the university and most of its facilities, the art museum, elementary school and child development center.

The for-profit arm of the university – Bob Jones Education Group, Inc. – will include the BJU Press, University Cleaners and the Bob Jones Academy middle and high schools.
