With the news coming out that this family and particularly the two boys, asked for and were granted political asylum.

Maybe this information will give pause to let millions of illegal immigrants come into America by an avenue other than the one set up by our forefathers.

There are immigration laws on the books, and they were good enough for yours and mine grandparents of other's family members for hundreds of years, so this AMNESTY thing needs to be trashed, and we need to deport illegal's, and make them come in the front door, not the side windows, back door of a whole in the roof.

We also need to stop the Anchor Baby road to citizenship.

We need citizens who VALUE and APPRECIATE the traditions and the PRIDE of this country, and to wave a hand over their heads; forgiving their law-breaking ways and welcoming them into the American family is not the RIGHT way. When we let people cheat their way into citizenship, there is a very good chance that the kind of people we get will be similar to the Boston bombers.

We can't keep giving America away to those who come here dissing our borders and the laws we have in place. This weakens the moral fiber of the citizenship that will one day lead this nation!

I am now stepping down from my dais, and leaving it open to any of you with an opinion!

Shalom! :type:

It is worse than that. The Russian government called the US in 2010 and said we need to take a look at this guy because he may be a terrorist. The took a brief look and let it go. There was a clear failure by the administration here. And people died because of it.

Not that it makes any difference, because I am certainly not an Obama supporter, but please, take note of the date they came here, 2007. Not everything under Creation is Obama's fault.

Political asylum and amnesty are two different things.

I realize this...

Political asylum and amnesty are two different things.

....it's just that giving any form of US citizenship away via asylum or amnesty, is wrong and it means undesirables will fall through the cracks more often than if we were doing the job according to the way our nation set up immigration laws and procedures years ago.

There were reasons our fore father established a long, tedious path to citizenship, and it was to make sure we got the better end of the deal. :1_grouphug:

Thanks for your input....

In 2010 Russia called us to tell us the older of the two brothers was known to be involved with extremists. I would say that definitely was his fault.

There can't be any doubt about that. THIS administration dropped the ball and people died.

They had a warning from another government. A whole lot different from a single person reporting something that may be suspicious.

This administration failed to heed the warning. Wonder if that failure had anything to do with spending time keeping tabs on US citizens with more than 7 days of food in their pantry?

Well, that is kind of like removing cancer from an operation after smoking for two packs a day for decades. Why were these two let in the United States in the first place.

The point is, there is blame to go around. I have not voted for a Democrat since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Same response, why were they allowed in the United States in the first place?

Somehow, many on this board equate placing blame where it belongs as support of Obama and nothing could be further from the truth.

It's too late to shut the barn door after the horse got out.

Those two were here.

Plently of blame to go around every nook, cranny, and dusty back hall of Washington for letting them get in, in the first place.

They were here. Government was warned. The buck has gotta stop somewhere on somebody's watch. Right now it's his watch, as he was guarding the barn when the bombs went off.

RDude- Not to belabor the point, but there is a notable difference between asylum and amnesty. The person who seeks asylum respects the law by following it. Amnesty rewards the person who did not.

From http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f39d3e4d77d73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f39d3e4d77d73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD:
Asylum
Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to:
Race
Religion
Nationality
Membership in a particular social group
Political opinion

From http://www.uscitizenship.info/articles/immigration-amnesty/index.html (a nongovernmental site): Immigration amnesty simply means the process of granting legal immigration status to persons who are in the United States illegally. Persons who entered the US illegally or persons whose immigration status has expired may qualify for immigration amnesty.

Can we say the same about "W"?

Uh no...there is no issue here with letting them in. At the time they were children. Their mother said it was in the last few years (5 I think) that the older brother became interested in extreme Islam. When they first came to the US there were no issues. The issues came up since they arrived.
