He has never owned a cell phone, & never played on a computer, even though I set him up, & got him online, nope, don’t need that. Many from that generation are being manipulated. My mom was pro life and keen on states rights to dictate laws. In her life she saw women who went to illegal abortionists who not only killed the baby but often killed the mother so she was sensitive to that as well.... so let me be clear, you will never stop abortions by making them illegal. What you will do is escalate a proliferation of illegal abortionists. So is that what you are willing to do?

The issue was whether IF the pope or Trump or anyone bent their OWN knee to prayer to Jesus, whether that would be OK for believers to do the same. That was a pretty obvious point, not sure why you wiggle and obfuscate.

Regarding this particular pope, who I dislike because he rejects the teaching of his predecessors ( btw have you read the encyclicals of Pope John Paul 23 on Social Issues) ... because they did not pussyfoot around like this pope does. Mom would have called him a “pipsqueak” her term for an emasculated male.

So would she, would I pray with them if they went down on bended knee and the answer is a definitive ‘maybe‘... if they were sincere and surrendered to Christ.

She never watched much tv except game shows and baseball games. She caught every game she could. To her, baseball was a game of both strategy and performance and that’s what mattered to her and she was fair to everyone... not a racist bone in her body.

Above all, she was not an idealist. She considered them to not be in touch with reality and so there they were foolish simple people given to flights of fancy.

she bought me and my brother our first guns, encouraged education and family and is my hero (as much as I dislike admitting to having any heroes). So long story short, no my mom was never influenced by any human save herself.

I doubt I would have disagreed with your mom, although I do not follow what the guy does. He does not appear to be hot to me and does appear to be hardly even warm.

I come from hard working construction workers, coal miners, farmers, factory workers, butchers, cattle men and sheep herders... not upper class snobs and you would never have heard any support from these good people, quite the reverse. So if you want an arguement then go to the comfortable rich who think it’s the preferred thing to do to rid the world of unwanted children... note you even have them in seats of power among Republicans.
