For practicing separation from the appearance of evil and teaching it. There are some christians that think one needs to practice fake magic and that can somehow lead to a gospel presentation (I cant find it used by Philip or Jesus in the Bible) but I am not sure how. At BJU they never once taught that unbiblical approach. The Bible is the authority and not magic!

How do you teach practicing a consistent, complete separation from any possible appearance of evil?

How do you teach a believer so that he will do nothing that someone else may not see as having an appearance of evil?



Did some accuse the Lord Jesus of an appearance of evil for eating with publicans and sinners (see Matt. 9:11, Matt. 11:19, Mark 2:16, Luke 7:34)?

Maybe they have changed since my day. Or maybe you have a misunderstanding of what they mean by magic, or maybe you cant judge the entire place based on some blog. I heard DOZENS of sermons there. Should I judge the entire school based on what one person preached?

I think, as we've explored in the other thread on this subject, that we can't condemn all "magic."

Perhaps we should exercise discernment, and condemn that which leads others away from God and Jesus.

evangelist6589 says "I am a street evangelist/open air street preacher. I have been through The Way of the Master basic training course twice." He obviously hasn't been to their website.

I went to The Way of the Master to check it out. Here's what I found.

At the bottom of the page I clicked on 2, "Watch witnessing clips" The page says Watch on-the-street Witnessing. It goes on to say "We hope these examples encourage and equip you." The first video is a guy witnessing to gang members at Santa Monica.

Kirk says "Were gonna go for twenty bucks, okay, I gotta get my twenty." In order to get the twenty bucks, the person has to answer 3 questions and pass the test. You can't do illusions, but, apparently you can bribe people to listen to you.
