Which Toby Keith song are you referencing?

And here are the major things to consider:

1. Terrorist insurgents. However, we are already having to deal with those. You seem to think more will come into play, I find that hard to believe, but, yes, that is a possibility.
2. Russia. Russia is a major factor in this whole operation given their status with Iran as an ally.
3. Other countries in the region. Other countries are not happy with Iran either and would likely join the US in an operation against the country after we make the initial move.

Those are the major factors at play right now.

I’ve already mentioned number two. I have a hard time believing any country in the world is itching for number three.

As for number one, I don’t know why you would find that hard to believe given how Arabs tend to place tribal loyalty over patriotic loyalty.

If these Iranian rocket attacks did not result in Amerian casualties there may not be a return attack by our forces. However, things change if there are casualties. President Trump has already promised a retaliatory strike. I highly doubt we will see United States ground forces in Iran. Most likely it will be a cruise missile strike by United States naval forces in the Persian Gulf. Cruise missiles eliminate the possibility of a pilot being captured. There is no need for a new Iranian hostage crisis. The real problem is if Iran presses its attacks; either directly or through its terrorist surrogates. You can only poke the lion in the eye so many times before he bites your head off. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail but you never know with Iran.

Update: Early indicatation is that rockets landed in non populated areas. Some Iraqi casualties reported. Tweet from Iran seems to indicate they got their shot in and now place the ball in Trumps hands. This is an easy win for Trump if he takes. He will be able to show strength and temperance in one week. Fingers crossed.
So, Mr. Almighty Strategist, what would your move be?

President Trump is a master at the fake out. If there are no casualties, Trump does nothing and leaves the Democrats with egg on their faces. What are they going to say then, that Trump was afraid to act and that he showed weakness in the face of the Iranian attack? Now, if there are American casualties Trump will hit back hard.

So the only time we should defend ourselves is if someone dies? Are you serious?

It would be just like Trump, a fake out against his detractors. What would the Dems say, that Trump should have retaliated against the retaliation? No, they (the Dems) would be where Trump has put them many times before - their minds blown!

Lose the attitude and stop being childish. I haven’t said anything crazy or outrageous here. This isn’t some playground slap fight. We have troops stationed all over the Middle East holding their breath.

Deesacalate and leave it be. It’s in everyone’s best interest. Unless you are just hellbent on plunging into war which seems to be the only scenario you want appear to think is satisfactory.

Have you served? You want to sign up?

And how do you propose we de-escalate? And in case you haven't noticed, WE ARE ALREADY AT WAR! We have been at war with Iran since the 70's and nobody has wanted to deal with it.

What did I just say in my last post to you?

Did you serve? You gonna sign up?

Another armchair Warhawk clamoring for another middle eastern war.

You really want to go all in and topple another middle eastern country? Could you imagine what would fill that power vacuum. An actual modernized country filled with their version of ISIS. No thanks.

You still didn't answer the questions. And Iran is already their own version of ISIS.

No, dont it will be boring

Hey look at the pastor contributing to the thread with insightful and well thought out counterpoints. Oh wait that didn’t happen. Just the usual childish barbs. At least David is having a conversation with me which I’ve actually enjoyed minus the unnecessary “Master Strategist” comment.

I literally did if you reread the post slowly and carefully. If you think what they have now is as bad as it can get you are sorely mistaken.

It’s like we’ve learned absolutely nothing from Iraq. It’s mindblowing.

Speaking of not answering questions. Did you serve? You going to? I know the answer to both it would seem.

I actually did try to enlist but could not pass the physical due to a previous back injury as well as complications with asthma thank you very much.

That being said, the question you did not answer, instead you focused on me, is how would you plan to de-escalate the situation?

I said to leave it be did I not? Going to have to stay vigilant though. What’s your plan here since I’m apparently out of my mind here?
