Keep your forked tongue behing your teeth, snake.
Snakes?!? Like the traitorous Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol?!? And in the words of Scarlett O, it sounds like you're about to resort to name calling. TREAD LIGHTLY.

Non sequitur. You cannot be so ignorant as to know who BLM and Antifa are, yet your post indicates just that.
Ah.... I live in a state that has not experienced race riots and looting and overt violence in the street even though we have large black communities. Therefore I do not see the relevance of blaming any particular group. That blame is entirely irrelevant in my community.

It was the MAGA cult looting, vandalizing, and being violent against police and lawmakers. But it's a great day. We get to see the end of the Trump presidency, the end of a Republican-led Senate, the disgrace that is MAGA, the suspending of Trump's Twitter account, and the impending arrests and charges against Trump supporters. Glad to a Georgian and proud to be an American. :D

this sort of language IS the reason why some, like MAGA, are reacting they way they are! There are too many "Americans" who are living there, who are not really intested in the "American way of life", Christian, Conservative, but are in the country to further their own godless and lawless ideas! This is the same here in the UK, where people come here who really don't agree with our Christian Way of life, and try to hijack the country. If I were in charge, I would be much tougher than Trump, and forcefully remove those from other countries living there, who are not interested in the Christian, Conservative, USA! Biden/Harris will DESTROY the USA!

And that is why MAGA is dead.

When was America ever Christian?!? :Laugh

Well, thank God you're not here or in charge so your opinion matters none. :Biggrin

You obviously don't KNOW American history! The US was founded by the English Puritans who left England, where I live, to live in what today is the US. They were very much born-again, Bible believing, Christians. Like here in England, godless governments have allowed anti-christians into the country, who are trying to take over. MAGA is a good thing for the USA, and NOT dead as you so foolishly think! Sounds like you are anti American!

You obviously don't know American history. The Founding Fathers were deists.

The type to try to kill of the Native Americans and enslave African people to work their stolen land.

MAGA is a good thing for the USA, and NOT dead as you so foolishly think!
So good that we voted it out. :Roflmao

Sounds like you are anti American!
Even if I was, there's not a thing you or anyone could do about it. But on the other hand, I'm very pro-American now. :Biggrin

So which ones were the ones that decided to kill the Native Americans...or bring the slaves over??

neither! The Lord no doubt moved these godly people from England to America, so that the One True Faith, Christianity, Founded on the Lord Jesus Christ, could be spread there, as it was to other parts of the world. The so called "Native Americans" were worshippers of the devil, and needed to be saved. Slavery was long alive and active in Africa among themselves much before the "Westerners" rescued many. Very sadly some evil was also done.

People in our country have a tendency to broad brush things by race when it suits their narratives.

Rarely is it mentioned that slavery still exists in Africa. Rarely is it mentioned that Africans were enslaving their own countrymen.

But history also provides interesting examples that stand in contrast to some expectations.

For example, about 60 miles from my home is a former plantation home. The owner of the plantation bought the land from the Governor of South Carolina. This guy owned three plantations was the largest slave owner in the state. Fitting expectations, he was noted to be cruel master - so much so that the other slave owners criticized his treatment of his slaves. What is interesting is that he was a former slave who bought his freedom from funds he had saved working on cotton gins in the area. He and his family supported the South in the Civil War and helped finance their cause.

Another interesting fact is the wealthiest woman, Amanda Dickson, in Augusta Georgia (in the 1880's) was a black woman (a former slave and plantation heiress). She had married a Civil War veteran (a white man) but left him and moved to Augusta purchasing a home a few miles from where I live. Society was divided, but not overall by race. Racial divisions were important, but so were economic divisions. The White women accepted this Black woman as an equal in society because she was economically their equal (actually, she was economically better off). She later married Nathan Toomer, a former slave. When Dickson died Toomer inherited her wealth. He remarried and had a son - Jean Toomer (who wrote Cane in the 1920's).

My point is that history has more depth and complexity than either sides on this forum cares to admit because it could disrupt their narratives. I'm sure the UK has similar issues with people reducing history to serve their needs (I suspect all cultures have this issue).

Jon, thanks for your excellent post!
Thanks. I often "play the game" but I sometimes I get tired of generalizations.

In our nation most White people are not racists, and most Black people are not racists. Sometimes both groups use race as an excuse for difficulties, but this is human nature. It is easier to ask "why have they done this to me?" rather than "what have I done?".

In politics, most Republicans are not "anti-immigration" and most Democrats are not "anti-values".

There are Christian Democrats who do oppose abortion but do not see making abortion illegal to be a viable solution to ending the practice. Their focus instead is preventing abortion by aiding the mother and ensuring the child is cared for. Same goes with issues like SSM. Many Christian Democrats do not believe a nation should legislate morality.

Republicans want to make abortion illegal. I agree with them on this point. BUT making abortion illegal and preventing abortions are two very different things. The legalization of abortion was not "out of the blue". Abortion did not start on the day it was made legal. It was made legal because there were so many abortions with serious consequences to the mother.

Abortion was frequently practiced in America before it was made illegal (abortion first became illegal in Connecticut, in 1821).

Again, my point is that people choose whatever they want to choose out of history and form a narrative that supports their views. There are Christians on all sides of our political processes.

So the attempted genocide of the Native Americans were them being saved?!? And the enslavement of African people by Westerners were them being rescued?!? If that's what MAGA ideology says, I can see why you guys are dead now. :Laugh

Actually, about 3% of African slaves made it to the US (about 380,000). Most ended up on the Caribbean or South America.

The largest exporter of slaves was Portuguese-Brazilian. Most African slaves were enslaved by African slaves and sold to slave merchants by the approximately 200 tribal African kings.
