President Bush is the leader of these United States, Frances. If he can't stand the criticism for his mistakes, then he should resign.

Sorry, MH, but I don't worship President Bush. I support him when he does things right as the leader of the federal government, and I point out when he messes up - as in the response to Hurricane Katrina.

Obviously, the president is like a football quarterback. He gets too much credit when the team is winning and he gets too much blame when the team is losing.

Right now, the president's "team" is losing. Thus he is getting rhetorically pounded. He ought to be used to it. It goes along with the job.

Frances, when you type a post in all capital letters, it is considered screaming on these message boards, in case you don't know. ;)

Bush is responsible for taking us to war. It was HIS responsibility to make sure the intelligence was accurate BEFORE making the decision to go to war. What part of that don't you understand?

You have a great political victory out of this tragedy so enjoy it, C4K!

As for the war in Iraq, the Democrats agreed with Bush and the whole world agreed with Bush. However, that is another great political victory for you because you will not be satisfied with the well-known fact that the CIA was gutted by Church. But you know the truth.

Congratulations on your political victory, C4K!

That is a superbly asinine statement. Any president has to rely on those who work for him. It is hardly likely that the president could gather the intelligence any more than he could perform every job in the government. If those who work for the president can't do the job he needs to fire them.

Supposedly the only people who can think on this Forum are; well I don't know what to call them. They don't like to be called Bush Haters and apparently resent being called Bush Bashers. I wonder if they would rather be called liberals or democrats or Clinton Lovers? [IMG]

Oh, I agree with you, Old Regular. However, this President is on the record stating that he is loyal to his friends. [IMG]

Donald Rumsfeld should have been fired long ago, IMO, when troops were sent to battle without sufficient body armor and up-armored humvees.

I don't have to wonder if the head of FEMA will keep his job. He will. Because he's a friend who was appointed to position, even though he has no prior experience in how to plan, execute, control and command in a major disaster - as has been readily apparent for the past five days. [IMG]

If you defend his incompetence, then I'll know for sure you don't subscribe to cable news channels, in spite of all your wealth. [IMG]

The Bush administration through the Pentagon effectivly bypassed the intell community through the use of the Office of Special Plans now renamed Northern Gulf Affairs Office.

Then the 911 commission and the Bush administration scapegoated the CIA and FBI with the help of the ineffectual and intimidated democrats. They are all guilty reguardless of party.

    </font>
Because someone writes it don't mean it is true. The intelligence failure is evidence of that. You incorrectly state that he Bush administration scapegoated the CIA and FBI. But there are no Bush Haters on this Christian Forum.

    Old Regular,

I gave up my rose colored glasses and blinders when I discovered that neocons are not conservatives and that reflectix works much better than tin foil.

Just because someone writes it down doesn't mean it isn't true.

Just because some one doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are always wrong.

Just because someone agrees with you doesn't mean they are always right.

Just because someone is a democrat doesn't mean they are always lying.

Just because someone is a replublican doesn't mean they are always telling the truth.

Just because someone is a democrat doesn't mean they are always telling the truth.

Just because someone is a republican doesn't mean they are always lying.

I may not always be right, I may not always be wrong but and here's the difference between you and I (I think) I will always look at all the evidence I can find from any source I choose and sort through it, test it against history and well established facts throw out that which has no credibilty, save and study that which has little credibility until it is acceptable or unacceptable keep it or toss it according the former criteria and keep and remember that which has good credibility and learn as I go.

If it's been weighng so heavily on your mind lo these last few weeks or months to tell me that I am a Bush Hater Old Regular then do it. Don't beat around the Bush (pun intended) just come out with it.

I wouldn't want you to suffer needlessly or lose any sleep or choke on something that seems to be stuck in your craw.

Bush isn't a god dude he is a man just like you and I, well maybe he is more like you if indeed it's true that you are rich (which I have seen no evidence of so I cannot say one way or the other) I am not however and as a man he is susceptable to each and every influence and weaknesses you and I are.

This is my country just as much as it is yours. And I claim the right to use my brain to figure things out for myself and find, use, review, collect, scrutinize, study and come to my own conclusions by any means I see fit and that includes but not limited to research into the background of any and all politicians, broadcastors, corporate owners, heads of state, the Crown of England, the bank of Toledo Ohio, Dyncorp, Diebold, Es&s, Clearchannel Comunications, Rush Limbaugh, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, the King of Siam or any other person place thing or event that has ever taken place on this planet.

But I totally and completely and flatly refuse to to tow the line for you, George Bush, Sean Hannity, Alex Jones, my mother, the CIA or Donald Rumsfeld just because they follow a certain ideology or political persuasion.

And most especially not because it will benefit a few and fleece the many.

And from what I have concluded at this time through my own research and cognitive skills even though they may be slow or defective is that this government be they republicans or democrats are thoroughly corrupt with the exception of but a handful and that handful is always and constantly marginalized and ridiculed by the many that are corrupt with the help of a spineless useless and monopolized medium such as television news.

I put Bush in the category of the many. If that's to much for you to handle I say that the remedy to that is a problem you will have to tackle on your own as I am going to continue right on telling it and calling like I see it.

    I hope that's clear enough.

I say again, if you want to call me a Bush hater than start a thread and say Poncho is a Bush hater. In the words of your illustrious hero..."Bring it on".

While this is true, he inherited the intel from a hugely compromised intelligence service. clinton all but destroyed it.

He had large stockpiles of WMD and everyone knew it. We sold some of them to him. He used some of them on his own people, remember?

There was ample time to ship the WMD's out and bury some. You leftists are whipping a dead dog here, as it never will gain any more traction.

You must not pay attention to the post of those here, C4K is no "leftist"!!

Your right we did give him WMD's twenty years ago, but there is no proof that he has had any WMD's in the last 10 years. Saddam was not a threat to the United States, but Iraq does make a good location for setting up a permanent military presence to launch invasions into other countries in the Middle East. The Bush administration started planning the invasion long before 9/11, even before Bush was ever elected in 2000. If you support nation building experiments in the Middle East then say so, but don't buy the constantly changing reasons for why we invaded Iraq.

    </font>
A leftist? Thats an interesting claim.

Whipping a dead horse? How about Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, but he must of got rid of them.

A political victory out of tragedy? That's no one goal, but Bush did not act any more quickly than Canada did. There is a problem there.

Bush basher/hater? Some here cannot comprehend how one can be critical of a politician's policies or actions without hating him.

A true leader does not blame his subordinates is as asinine statement? Really? A real leader knows that at the end of the day he is responsible for what he does, good or bad.
