It's funny...if Kerry did this (which he will, if elected), Bush supporters would use it as evidence that he's the devil incarnate.

But when Bush does it, they ignore it.

Sometimes I think that abortion really doesn't bother them; it's just a political tool for "their guy" to use to his advantage.

Why wouldn't he? The Bush's have supported eugenics (being born well) and have been involved in Planned Parenthood from the very begining of it.

In G.W's case it's a family thing. Always has been.

They either have to hide from the facts or climb a very tall ladder to overlook them...or label them "conspiracy theories" this last approach usually works best.

If it's a "conspiracy theory" there is no need for further investigation. Better to just take Dan Rather or Hannity's word on it. Why waste 15 minutes looking up facts for youself?

I have and that is one of the reasons I do not support liberal President GW Bush.

I have to chuckle when I hear Democrats refer to him as the right wing candidate.

Unless the President has line-item, he must execpt the whole bill, or veto the whole thing. Is it worth it to cancel the majority of items for one. Any comments

I don't know. Clinton vetoed entire budget bills for one or two things he considered an abuse of fiscal responsibility, or for something he considered unConstitutional.

Most Americans backed him up on that.

Standing up for what's right has a price, but we need a president who will do it.

I'm a Bush supporter. Never knew this. So what are we going to do, not vote or vote for Kerry just to show Bush what we think of these acts? I can't defend him on it, but what is the suggested course of action now that we know this?

pastorjeff, you can do like thousands of other conservative Christian voters are doing in November and vote for Michael Peroutka. He may not stand a "chance" of winning, but we can still do what is right, and leave the outcome in the hands of the Lord.

PastorJeff, my take on it is this - God knows the outcome of the election and whomever is elected will be there by God's permission.

The only power I have been entrusted to me is my one little vote (which may or may not count - the Electoral College decides anyway - or in the case of the last election, the US Supreme Court rules on it).

So, believing I will answer to the Lord one day for the freedom and responsibility He has given me to cast my one little vote - I will vote with a clear conscience for the man with the most moral and Godly character out of those who are running for office. And leave the results to God.

That is why I am voting for Michael Peroutka.

Simple solution to this problem that every President faces. Give the President the Line Item Veto again.

On June 26, 1998, the Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision,struck down the line-item veto law, declaring it unconstitutional. ...

The ironic thing about the Line Item Veto Act was that the Republican Congress passed it as a part of the Contract for America even while knowing that Bill Clinton would be the first to use it.

Talk to your congressman and let's push this thing back to the forefront of the public's attention.

Until then we're just going to have to live with it.

Another good solution would be for the POTUS to refuse to sign any bill that had anything in it that is unconstitutional. That is what he took an oath to do when he became president.
