I think history will be kinder to Bush than the people who hate him hope for.

I do not hate Bush. There may be some who do. I do think he has been a terrrible president. In fact, I feel kind of sorry for him. He started out with good intentions and had some good ideas, but got lost along the way and ended up making a series of mistakes that will cost him dearly in the judgement of historians in the future. I was a Bush well wisher in the beginning and continued to be until the invasion of Iraq. I was against the war before we invaded. I am very sorry that what I feared would happen in Iraq did happen.

One area I give him credit for is his support of helping fight AIDS with funds going to African nations. This has helped many people in these poor countries.

I don't believe you. To blame this entire war on him, and ignore his conspirators is focused hatred.

Who belongs on a war crimes trial, the president, or the congress that told him he could ? And who wrote the intelligence we went to war on, and what other previous administrations did he/they serve under ?

Oh, sorry, I forgot. You won't answer specifics.

Your problem, not mine. I tell you the truth. You can accept it or not. That is not up to me.

I have never called Bush a war criminal. I have said he made major mistakes and it history will remember it as his war.

So my second question has zero merit ?

I think you are the one ignoring truth, CTB. You should do some research, without bias.

Onto bigger & better.....enjoy.

It's already happening.

I sincerely hope you are right and I hope it continues. The real test will be when we pull out of Iraq. That will be the time of the acid test. I sure hope they pass it.

Getting late here and I am going to bed. Night all.

That was my idea? I didn't say anything even close to that.

What makes you think I dislike helping people? Again, I said nothing close to that. I merely pointed out the fact that we have thrown billions of dollars at people and problems and have not helped. So I am not happy about that. I think we should help people ... actually help them, not just throw money at it.
I have noticed that this is a tactic that the left uses quite frequently.

Just as with the Word of God, many of the leftist persuasion will tell you what you really meant, in spite of what you actually said.

This, like attacking the messenger, is to obscure the actual topic, and thereby not have to logically respond; least seems to me to be the reason.

How much did the September 11 terrorist attack cost America?

http://www.iags.org/costof911.html

"Counting the value of lives lost as well as property damage and lost production of goods and services, losses already exceed $100 billion. Including the loss in stock market wealth -- the market's own estimate arising from expectations of lower corporate profits and higher discount rates for economic volatility -- the price tag approaches $2 trillion.

Among the big-ticket items:

The loss of four civilian aircraft valued at $385 million.

The destruction of major buildings in the World Trade Center with a replacement cost of from $3 billion to $4.5 billion.

Damage to a portion of the Pentagon: up to $1 billion.

Cleanup costs: $1.3 billion.

Property and infrastructure damage: $10 billion to $13 billion.

Federal emergency funds (heightened airport security, sky marshals, government takeover of airport security, retrofitting aircraft with anti-terrorist devices, cost of operations in Afghanistan): $40 billion.

Direct job losses amounted to 83,000, with $17 billion in lost wages.

The amount of damaged or unrecoverable property hit $21.8 billion.

Losses to the city of New York (lost jobs, lost taxes, damage to infrastructure, cleaning): $95 billion.

Losses to the insurance industry: $40 billion.

Loss of air traffic revenue: $10 billion.

Fall of global markets: incalculable. "

How much will another 9/11 cost? Bush has kept the country safe since 9/11 regardless of what the whining Bush haters say.
