My wife and I were part of the 67% of Californians that voted for the "No Marriage" on same sex partners. This is another reason we have become discouraged with voting. We vote for Initiatives, only to have the Initiatives overturned.Dragoon68 said:
California's Top Court Overturns Same-S*x Marriage Ban
This is a disgrace to California and to America. It's another sign of our out of control judicial system and another departure from Christian based morality in the laws of our one of our larger states. Shame on them for doing this. I hope the people of California demand a state constitution change to correct this grave error and also Regina in their judicial branch.
Edited to try and "trick" google ads

You sure seem to like to judge other folks, tt. I think Jesus talked about such an attitude during the Sermon on the Mount. I encourage you to read it sometime. It might help you to know the Lord better than you do now, brother.

You make alot of good points here. Except the comparisons, imo.tinytim said:Do you honestly believe that God does not send judgment upon countries?
The Bible is full of instances where God sends Judgment.
I am not judging people, that is God's doing...
But as a minister, I have the duty to judge sin.
To proclaim sin as sin, and to warn people of the consequences of sin.
Some sin have its own consequences built in... Alcoholism comes with liver disease.... needle sharing comes with hepatitis or HIV... Homosexualism and other forms of extra marital sex comes with STDs... And I will add that destroying the Ozone comes with skin Cancer.....
But sometimes God acts apart from the built in consequences....
Israel was captured by Babylon because they were disobedient.
Obviously, Sodom and Gomorah...
Someone was struck with leprosy because they smarted off Moses...
Ananias and his wife were struck dead because they lied to the church...
Paul even says when he was explaining the last supper that because of taking it disrespectfully was the cause of people's death...
John writes of the future in Revelation, and we see God pouring out his wrath all over the earth....
So why should we think that God will spare San Francisco of judgment, when it is the most flamboyant of all cities in the US over homosexuality?....
I really hope and pray the state will wake up in time before God says, "I've been patient all this time... now vengence is mine"
Sin has consequences, and yes, God uses nature to bring them about.
The Bible makes it plain... sin brings death.

It isn't that bad, nothing like Soddom and Gommorah imo.
Can't see the Lord ordering it's destruction, too many righteous people.
My cousin and I stayed the night in S.F about 3 yrs ago due to her yearly work party. She was newly divorced, and staying with us at the time. She begged me to go as her date so I broke down and agreed. Normally, I avoid S.F. We spent time in the fancy hotel and in an upscale restaurant nearby where the party was held. Surprisingly enough, it was alot of fun. We walked the streets a little, not much. Everyone seemed fine, though there were certainly more gay people around us than usual. You just talk to them like you would talk to anyone. Can't recall any odd behavior offhand.
S.F. events attract much attention due to the public nudity and perverted behavior. Yet most of the time, imo, it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Ok, I had better clarify. Regarding Sodom and Gommorah, the city was destroyed because there was only one righteous person, Lot.I know you're not justifying sinful behavior...but your post sounds like you're rationalizing. I doubt you meant to be taken that way...but that is how it sounds...
I was thinking the same thing.rbell said:so...how much perversion is an "acceptable" amount?

Notice the progression; getting a little more tolerant of evil bit by bit?Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
