California School bumps Robert E. Lee for Latina

Many of you suggested that if the flag went so would the statues, etc. Well a Long Beach School Board was pressured to wipe the name of Robert E. Lee from the name of one of its elementary schools, and voted to replace his name with that of an elected politician and noted Latina!

No I didn't know that, and that is a good piece of historic fact to add to this OP. However, for whatever the reasons, they named the school after him, and just because the anti-confederate tide is rolling along, and picking up steam, does not seem right to change the name to make a few "rebel rousers," excuse the unintentional pun, happy! They pressured the board into making a change on the cusp of an emotional lynch mob mentality sweeping the country. And that is wrong.

A school bearing the name Peter Burnett, a former Governor has also been changed.
He endorsed a black exclusion law. This law would have forced former black slaves to leave the state.
