You never called in sick when you weren't? That's straight up Calvjnist. All of the churches in USA are rooted in Calvinism.

I'm speechless

I have a limp from old injuries from when I was 14. Some time in the 1980's, I wanted a day off from work (don't remember why), and either didn't have a day or didn't want to use it then. So I went to the steps up to my garage apartment, deliberately fell onto my bad knee, then called in and said I fell on that knee and was hurting (I was). My supervisor said okay to the day off request. Was that honest?-- I didn't even say the knee was the reason.

I would say that was not honest - because you were trying to deceive him.

Was God deceiving people by passing the word to Joseph to take Mary as his wife, and for his wife and son to refer to Joseph as the father of the child?

At least in a hospital or medical environment we call them, “mental health days” and they are not necessarily considered dishonest.

If not abused, when one becomes overwhelmed taking a mental health day sometimes helps them to reset and re-energize their mind.

Never did it myself. I left my last job with a couple of thousand unused, uncompensated sick hours.

But then again, I don’t consider myself “Calvjnist”.

We get three “personal days” each year. No questions.

Our Pastor just preached on 9th commandment. Deliberate deception is a violation.

peace to you
