Honestly, I was more surprised that one of them was previously employed as a chaplain at Furman. I had thought that that school was more conservative.

The Pastors are coming straight from Unitarian church as well, are they not? Haven't read the article, but heard it on the radio. The church they now lead has been out of the SBC for a couple of years now. However they are still members of serveral baptist associations.

The article said that one of them worked at a Unitarian church, but they were both ordained at 1st Baptist Church of Greenville.

I don't know how "Baptist" this church is, but, I am sure that the Holf Spirit is heavy in the heart today?

What are your thoughts on this news?
I am not surprised. H*m*smexuality has been the watershed issue for Christianity in our day. If a "church" is pro gh3y, then at least we all know where they stand.

Nothing shocks me anymore. Caligula would be proud of our civilization.

He sure would.

I believe I remember Peter and Jude warned us of this. False teachers leading people astray with sinful sexual desire.

That is a fact. The church of today is too willing to wink and nod their way forward, and not upset the politically correct around them! Making a deal with the devil may be good for the time being, but in the long run it will cost them their soul and eternal life!

It is disgusting but what makes it even sadder is that the world sees this and sees that God just accepts it all - sin and whatever and you can live however you want and you're good. Forget the Bible. Forget obedience. It's no big deal because God loves you no matter how you want to live your life or change what He created. Then when we stand for the truth, we are bigoted and why can't we be like that church?

There is a reason the road to heaven is narrow! That church and all like it are on the highway/wide road to hell!

So true.

Pro-Gay Carrie Underwood Performing at Passion

"The country music superstar surprised—and befuddled—Passion attendees when she appeared on stage last week with other music icons, including David Crowder."

"'The controversy is why would Louie Giglio put someone in front of millennials—who are struggling with this issue—who is basically saying that the Bible is not true in what it says about homosexuality,' American Family Association Ed Vitagliano says."

"'[There is a] growing strain within the evangelical community that is denying the truth of Scripture,' he continued."

"Passion City Church and the Passion Conference did not respond to multiple requests for comment."

Sounds like we may need to recheck our definition of what a New Testament Baptist might be. The word Baptist has been so watered down. It is so ambiguous. On the other hand some churches have taken Baptist out of their names--perhaps because they know they are not. The word Christian is also seriously misunderstood. "The disciples(followers) of Christ were called Christian first at Antioch." Ecumenism is alive and well on planet Earth.

The Lord knows them that are His.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

What is really sad is htat the Chuch no longer stands united against this sin, as probaly more open to it than now against it!
I remember whn Ray Boltz cameout being gay, after 33 years of marriage , 3 kids, and now declred freedom as God always wnated him to be gay!

How about a Baptist is one who always agrees with what God said regarding all things in the Bible?
