If you are at peace with what you said, so be it. I don't follow it. Its like talking in circles to me. This is why I have been hard on you in the past. No matter how many times I ask you, I still don't understand what your saying. I know of no other way to put this Allan.

I never can understand your logic on election and you have been through it 20 times. You use to many words. You go around in circles.

If you know of a better way to explain it let me know.

Hold on...I got it.

Give me a book that best tells of your views. I will buy it and read it, because I have tried for years and we just do not connect on this.

Before you said you would change nothing, now you say its not the same.

Never mind trying again. If you have a book tell me the name and writer and I'll buy it.

Allan's been writing a book for almost three years now -- at least since he joined the BB.I hope it's not theological in nature. If he tries to self-publish the thing -- it will not be any more clear than his BB posts unfortunately.

I can only imagine.

Only Calvinists misunderstand that you are writing three books?

You make some of the longest post on the BB. Now come on Allan. I don't know your personal life, but it is clear that if you spent only have the time writing your books as you do posting you would have 5 books done. Its not fair to say you don't have time. One does what he wants to with his time. I post a fair amount of time.

The church I pastor is 30 miles from my house, so I spend a lot of time on the road going there. Besides pastor, I have a full time job. I have a job that causes me to work long hours being over one department of a company that has 3 locations to oversee. But since my time on this board I have also written two books, and I write a weekly column for 5 papers, I blog, write out message outlines each week, write study notes for a theology class I teach each week, and I take a class one night a week.

You may have a rougher time at it than I. Again, I do not know your life. But I do know how much time you spead writing on here. I'm not asking you to stop. I enjoy posting with you.

I saying this to get you to write those books. This stuff here...who cares???? Its only for fun. We all just whip it out as fast as we can...misspellings ...bad grammar and all.
But you have the time to do something that counts...if you CHOOSE to do it.

Get on it man.

And curiously it seems to be only Calvinists that do not understand me.

I understand your views on the atonement. We disagree.
I understand your views on the state of man. We are close on our understanding on this one.
I understand your views on translations.
I understand your views on end times.

Your view on election? I have no idea. But you spend my time (talking with me) trying to tell me what it is. Just when I think i'm getting it, you add something new that blows the rest off the logic map.

anyway....maybe we (calvinist) are just to dumb. I don't matter.

I do not follow you on election, for you are unclear.

So.....how about that book?? Do you have a book I can read from someone that has written on election and you agree with 100%???

It will be my next book I buy. I will read it.

Your right James, you have no idea the time constraints I have - but I will say that from what you wrote above I feel sorry for your family.
For me, my family is my second priority only in relation to my relationship with God. Then comes my Job, then my minstry, schooling, and lastly my books.

Though there is no reason for me to explain myself or actions in relation to being on the BB I will so you will have something more than an assumptions. With regard to how much time I spend on the BB, you speak from a lack of knowledge on the subject. When you see me logged on that does not mean that I am sitting here at this computer reading or writing. I get on here from work, and have permission to do so from my employer. See I'm a security guard and so I can keep this site up and open while I continue on my duties. It can take me a few minutes to write a single post or even 2 hours for that same 'single' post - and that is with me typing nearly 50 wpm (when I am actually typying). I, however, do not write on my books at work because it takes time, patience, and imangination to write a fiction worth reading. The very few times I am allowed to get on the BB while at home are the only exceptions to the above times I am on the BB because my wife hates me being on the computer as that is where I spend much of my time between studing for sermons, research, bible studies, finances, ect.. and lastly yes my books. So our time is much more precious than any book or even the BB. Thus in truth you really know nothing about the amount of time I spend on here, only that you see me on here.

I saying this to get you to write those books. This stuff here...who cares???? Its only for fun. We all just whip it out as fast as we can...misspellings ...bad grammar and all.

Do you even know 'why' I'm writting these books?
They are not for profit but for fun, for my family and friends and others who might enjoy it. I have no time frame in which to write it nor am I rushed to finished it.
However I 'do' it when I 'can' and that is a fact, you can even ask my wife who is a co-writer in it, though I am it's primary writer.

Your view on election? I have no idea. But you spend my time (talking with me) trying to tell me what it is. Just when I think i'm getting it, you add something new that blows the rest off the logic map.
See that is what I don't get - what did I add that wasn't there previously?
The election of certain individuals is based on the God decree/decision to save by grace through faith. It is no simplier than that - the election is based upon His decree.

anyway....maybe we (calvinist) are just to dumb. I don't matter.
I never said that. I said that only ones who have trouble understanding me has been Calvinists. This is a reference to different/various conversations whereby others undertstand quite well what I am saying but typically if someone states they don't understand me it was always the Calvinist. (not every Calvinst mind you - only 2 or 3 certain individuals)
So.....how about that book?? Do you have a book I can read from someone that has written on election and you agree with 100%???

It will be my next book I buy. I will read it.
I'll have to look. I have never read it in a book (never said I did either - FTR). As I said it was something most of the preachers I know believed and other non-cals I met and in school. I'll look for something on it.

Allan,

If you were to read my post again, you would find that I never asked why you were on here so much, nor was asking to explain yourself or actions for ANYTHING.

You made a statement that you didn't have the time to write your books. I gave you a chance to find that time by not writing other things. Case in point. If you had used the time it took to write this post, you would have had a page done, or better.

As to my Family. I have a great relationship with them as far as I know, and always have. I'm not sure why you feel sorry for them. You were the one that was complaining about time. I was not, nor did I say my faimly was sorry complaining about my time. I'm not trying to share war stories or scars. I have been married 30 years. I have 3 girls that went to Christian high school and on to Bible college. All three are serving the Lord in Christian schools now. My son in law is a pastor. I'm a pastor. God has been good to our family.

YOU SAID...
So our time is much more precious than any book or even the BB.
And think you for making my point clear as day. You say it is more "precious" than the BB. Well...the BB posting must be more precious still than the books. Again...no big deal. But to say you have no time, when you could take the time from your BB posting and write the books, seems to me to be a good idea. What do you think? If not that the BB posting is more precious to you. Again what ever you wish to do.

The book of James......in short says..."show me your love". We do what we love the most. Its clear you like to post on the BB, as do I. If I find a greater love that day, I will not post.

Do you even know 'why' I'm writting these books?
They are not for profit but for fun, for my family and friends and others who might enjoy it. I have no time frame in which to write it nor am I rushed to finished it.

I didn't know before, but now I guess I do. But I'm not sure what the point is.

I never said that. I said that only ones who have trouble understanding me has been Calvinists. I agree that is what you said. You are reading into what I said. Even if we (the Calvinist) are dumb...(for we are the only ones that don't get it)...it still don't matter. I want to understand your views and I have been able to understand your views on other subjects, but not this one. Thus...I ask for other people. Writers that have gone before us. I can share many with you that hold to my views.

I'll have to look. I have never read it in a book
Humm.

So as far as we know this is just your own ideas, unless you can share others that hold to them?

(never said I did either - FTR).
Yes..I think your right. You never claimed to have read this in a book, that I can remember.

As I said it was something most of the preachers I know believed and other non-cals I met and in school.
And none of these men have written it down? That's to bad. Oh well. Maybe you can start another book to help this new and yet to be documented view.

Hold on...Maybe the school you went to has a book or two to draw from. Call one of your buds and see if they can help us out. do you mind sharing the school? I don't mind getting on their website and checking it out myself. Maybe that would help me and I wouldn't need a book.

I'll look for something on it.
That would be great.
Thanks Allan.
