CAN A CHRISTIAN BE POSSESSED/DEMONIZED?

Dear Lorelei:

1a. In Ezekiel 8, you do not have to ask anyone more educated whether or not God allowed his temple to be defiled by demon worshippers and idols and demons inside the outer and inner court. The answer is plain and simple: YES.

We are not concerned here about whether or not the Jews were saved. We are concerned about whether or not God allowed himself to be exposed to evil, and whether or not God and evil can occupy the same temple.

1Cor10:19-20 says, "What shall I say then? that the idol is anything? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils..."

1b. You said that our New Testament temples, because of our sins, cannot be defiled. You are wrong here.

1Cor3:16-17 says, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

If it is impossible for God's temple to be defiled, then the above verses would not be part of the bible. The verses simply mean this: Do not allow your temple to be defiled. Allow your temple to be defiled and you will be destroyed!

2. You said Peter was not yet filled with the Holy Spirit. Good point. However look at Acts 5:3 and so on, "Then Peter said, 'Ananias, how is it that Satan has so FILLED YOUR HEART that you have lied to the Holy Spirit..."

The facts...
A. Ananias was a Christian who was now filled with the Holy Spirit.
B. And...Satan filled his heart.

3. You said that Satan does not need to indwell us to make us sin. We agree on this point.

What makes matters worse is when we let our sin nature open a doorway for Satan to make a stronghold or spiritual bondage in our life.
