Can a woman be a open air preacher?

I am complimentarian and do not believe a woman can be ordained, a deacon, or to preach or teach to men. However in one area I believe they can be street preachers since they are outside the church walls and acting as an evangelist. Also in the tribulation God will use women to preach on the streets or to prophecy as Joel makes clear.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE lets debate this one issue and not get sidetracked on women preaching in the church building since this is not what this thread is about.

No, this thread is another attempt to divert attention away from your sin against your wife and family and against God, and your arrogant refusal to repent.

Sure they can be street preachers. No one will listen to them, though.

I personally don't think street preaching is an effective tool for spreading the gospel - especially the videos I've seen in the last couple of days. But sure, women could do it if they wanted to but I don't know why they would. Women have a much greater ministry to their family, the other women in the community and in their church. I think you can reach more for Jesus by being on the PTA or joining a women's group than standing in the street making people think you're nuts.

Of course it is effective Ann - Evan has been doing it for years!

LOL - I just know that when I walk through NYC, there are plenty of people spouting things in the street standing on soap boxes - and those are the people I just shake my head and walk on through, just like every other person there. Some might stop and laugh but that's about it. I'm more of the person to sit in the coffee shop with someone and guide them through the Scriptures but I guess that's just me. ;)

From what Scripture are you getting, that inside/outside a church building is so significant to this?

Not trying to speak for him, but I think the difference, whether real or imagined, would follow more logically than Scripturally. I think it would have to do with a pastor inside a church being a shepherd to a consistent flock, but outside a person is simply preaching to whoever happens by the street that day.

Yep, because seeing a woman standing on a soapbox and yelling at people for being sinners is so inviting and engaging.

That's your opinion. But there are plenty of them out there.

I don't deny there might be some out there, I said they aren't going to draw people to listen to them.

Oh....are you seeking out women street preachers on the dating sites? Is that why you were looking at the "Christian" social board in the Denver area?
