Can an atheist also be a born again Christian?

Ravdon, you're confusing me. First of all, why use as your username a Catholic priests 'cane' symbol? Doesn't really fit with Southern Baptist!

If the Bible sets how to be saved, and a person follows that and he is saved, and the Bible says a person cannot lose that salvation, and if you are willing to accept what the Bible says, then you agree that a person can be both an atheist and a born again Christian simultaneously.

Diane,

I am suspicious that this guy is not being very honest with us and is really a non-Christian troll disguise as a Baptist coming in here to intentionally post his anti-Christian and anti-Biblical heresies to fleece the flock. If you doubt me, just read some of the article that he posted in his second link on the first page. It seems to me that he is trying to post a case against the Bible and has the spirit of anti-Christ. I am letting you know because I know you are a moderator. Perhaps you might want to look into this or discuss this with one of the administrators or moderators of this forum so they can look into this.

Ravdon, forgive me for saying so but your original hypothesis was based on error. The Bible is very clear on the subject you proposed, and the folks here already tried to shed some light on the matter. I do not want to add to their valuable comments, only wished to quote the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, in order to better illuminate to us all the greater picture of those people who departed from the truth.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That is very Christian of you, Mr. Botwinick.

And lying in your profile to come to the Baptist Board to spread dissention and error is not "Christian", either.

The game is up.
