Our lives impact more people than we know.
Here is a letter written in 1937 from my great grandmother to her only surviving son, my maternal grandfather. She was dying and these are her last recorded words...
Dearest and Best beloved:-
I want you to give Brother Ruby twenty-five dollars.
I want you to give Sister Ruby the oak Sheffioneer on the screen porch.
They have been very very good to me.
I want you to give my little Nell any of my belongings, that she desires to have.
She has been a great comfort to me during the past terrible year.
I want you to read my bible carefully, and prayerfully and obey.
It will lead you to Heaven where Bessie and Jimmie and brother will be waiting for you.
I have prayed for each of my dear grandchildren, every day since they were born.
I have “prayed without ceasing” for you and Lily, and will pray until He comes for me, that my Father will bless and keep and teach and guide all of my precious loved ones in His way. - That I may have them all through Eternity.-
Good bye my own darling.-
Mother
