Did not Samson's strength come from the Holy Spirit (Spirit of the Lord)?
Judges 14:6 says about Samson, "The Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart." Verse 9 says, "Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power. He went down to Ashkelon, struck down thirty of their men..." Judges 15:16 says, "The Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power...Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men."
If we have the same Spirit (who, unlike in Samson's case, is always with us) why can't we avail of His "power" or "strength" (perhaps even a tenth of what Samson had) in times of danger like imminent rape, murder, homicides, stabbings, carjackings, school shootings, etc...?
Are we not talking about the same Spirit here? Respectfully asking (and wondering)... :saint:
