It is a result of the Fall, and yes, taking ones life is playing God, and is sinful, but not the unpardonable one for a Christian to commit! In some instances, It may very well not be a sin at all. Is suffering from extreme mental illness a sin?

God states that He orders all the days of our live, written down in the Book of Life, and there aare no verses to show to us that God ordains a christian to take his own life!Scripture?
If one is taking them under a Dr prescription no, but would be a sin to take hits on Lsd to just try it out!Is it sinful to take painkillers that also happen to be mind-altering? After all, it may be His Will that one feel pain and Scripture does speak against drunkenness.
If one is taking them under a Dr prescription no, but would be a sin to take hits on Lsd to just try it out!
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and are to honor God in our bodies, so why would taking illicit drugs and killing ourselves off be glorifying God?Scriptural support, please.

I came across a very good study on the topic of suicide. Because suicide is on the upswing in America
among teens and young people, I thought this would be a good question and topic to ponder and discuss.
Let's see what we as a group can come up with, and how other pastors and laymen handle the issue with their local churches! Please be sure to read the link! If you have additional links and material that can be used to help other church leaders effectively handle this crisis among teens and young adults, please feel free to attach it to this OP. We need to be prepared to discuss this when it comes and stands at our doorstep, and there are many positive ways to address the topic and help the depressed child of God move away for the lie of the enemy to take his or her life in order to end misery in their lives!
And please no pat answers that Christians would never consider this. We know this isn't true, and unless we know and understand suicide for the lie and the sin, it is, we cannot be of assistance to those caught up in its strangle hold!
What make suicide bad and sinful is that we are taking the right of God unto ourselves, and killing off the image of God within us!
Elijah was depressed, Jonah was so depressed he wanted to die, King Saul (God's anointed) killed himself with a sword. Samson prayed to God for the strength to kill himself and God granted his request. Samson is also named as one of the "heroes of faith" in Hebrews chapter 11. Praise God!
But nevertheless, Samson had sinned and ruined his life and had hit rock bottom at that point in time. Is it a sin for a Christian to commit suicide? Well, the Bible commands us not to worry and tells us to cast our cares upon Him, so I would say yeah it is a sin. But a real Christian is indwelled with the Spirit of God, sealed unto the day of redemption so, a true born of the Spirit, blood-washed child of God would go to Heaven as sure as you're breathing. I've had some bad things happen in my own life resulting in being severely depressed and contemplated it myself but, at this time I'm loving life, wish to please the Lord, and by the grace of God hope to never get in that shape again.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart......
Casting all your cares upon Him for He careth for you....
Looking unto Jesus........
Long term, non intentional version! What about not taking care of one's health e.g. you let yourself go in to morbid obesity. Is that a form of suicide?
OTC drug abuse?
