Trump is doing just fine. Sometimes you have to take baby steps, even a step back to take two forward. Trump says he's going to defund abortions and I believe him. He was in a tough spot, and did what he had to do, but mark my words, he will defund PP. .

He's always going to be in a tough spot...but he has the veto pen.

Paul Ryan has to go.

True, but Trump is crafty. Rarely sleeps, always scheming. He's navigated impossible situations his whole life. He'll do what's expedient for his goals, not necessarily what's politically expedient. He'll pick his battles.

He'd better get started. He just set his entire agenda back for months. He just rendered about half his Executive Orders null and void.

The Swamp is eating him alive and Chuck Schumer is the unelected POTUS.

Nah, who told you that? Sounds like fake news. No reason to panic. There's a lot to do and a long time to do it.

Nobody has to tell me. And nobody should have to tell you. If he signs the budget agreement , and indications are that he will, he just authorized funding for several items he specifically wrote EOs to defund.. Weak.

Republicans have no guts and that starts at the top with Trump and Ryan.

Temporarily, yes. As I said, sometimes you're in a tough spot (with a gutless congress) and you have to take some steps back. Dems understand this and do it all the time. They take steps back to take steps forward. And it works. Look how far they've gotten.

Trump may sign the bill which will fund somethings temporarily so he can fund other things like border security (1.5 billion) and get other things done, then he'll come back and deal with it. I have no problem with it, so long as he keeps with the long term goals. When dealing with a gutless congress, especially gutless/clueless republicans, you have to do what you have to do. I trust Trump to take the best deal before him. At this point, there is lousy and lousier, so he going to have to take some heat. He's man enough to do it.

Yes, it appears to be the same old, same old. Trump is not leading his own agenda. Trump needs to do what Reagan did and get on TV and present his case to the people and have him urge the citizens to call their representatives in Congress. Back it up with tweets but get on TV--sell your tax plan, sell your budget. Lead.

I think you're right, and I think he is. He's already starting the conversation about changing the rules. Dems were prepared to shut down the government and so concessions were made to get dem votes. But this can't be the norm, and I don't think it will be.

That's only part of the problem. Ryan has to go. He is a democrat budget collaborator.

Believe me, I'm no Ryan fan, but I don't think he's a liberal. Compromiser, yes, but I have a feeling Trump was in agreement with him on getting this deal done and giving up lots of concessions. It appears Trump wants to push the fight to September so he can push for a rule changes in the Senate. that appears to be the direction he's going.

If we really want dem obstructionism to end, a rule change may be the only way. So far the republican leadership has little interest in doing this, but Trump has started the conversation and I think he's going to push for it as September approaches. I'm starting to see Trump's strategy a little clearer now.

The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there! We....

either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good "shutdown" in September to fix mess!

Can you imagine?

Hillary Clinton has fired the FBI director, the very person that was investigating her campaign's ties to Russians and possible collusion with Russians to throw the election in her favor. The very next day she meets with the Russian ambassador and allegedly passes classified information to him regarding ISIS, and then explains, "I'm fully within my right to tell him these things."

Sean Hannity would froth at the mouth and Rush Limbaugh's head would explode. Baptist Board would be lit up like the exhaust manifolds on the space shuttle at liftoff.

Can you imagine--the day after firing the FBI director Hillary meets with the Russians and says the director was a 'nut job' and his firing relieves the pressure of the investigation on Trump's associates?
