whetstone, I could tell from your earlier comments in this thread, and even the original poll itself, that that was your real question behind the question. [IMG] ;)

I, on my own, am NOT capable of changing my own destiny. God saves me, I don't save myself. But God saves me by his grace through faith. That's where my part comes in. [IMG]

Both. It is not an either/or situation.

If you can't save your self, what makes you think you have the power to send another to hell?

But if God gave you the faith- then HE changed your destiny not you. it actually IS an either/or if you think about it.

Yes, God changed my destiny, but he didn't force me into it. No, it is not an either/or.

I could not get to God on my own, even if I wanted to. God built the bridge. He helped me cross it. He changed my destiny. But he does not drag people across the bridge.

In reality all people deserve hell or eternal separation from God.

However, God in His Sovereign Grace has chosen some out of this fallen mass unto salvation in Jesus Christ. These He has chosen He will, in His own good time, regenerate, pardon, effectually call and justify through faith in Jesus Christ, adopt as sons, sanctify, preserve in the palm of His hand, and finally glorify.

The remainder He has left in their fallen state.

What made you want to cross the bridge?

I'm not suggesting He did. He convinced you though. If anyone can convince a person, God can.
