Cruz can't escape the question. The Dems will hound him on it until he is destroyed.

Cruz is a Baptist with an ivy league education. He went to Harvard Law School. Liberal Democrat Alan Dershowitz said on Newsmax one night recently that Cruz was one of the brightest students ever to attend Harvard Law School and one of the brightest pupils that he ever taught.

Cruz has said that his being an American citize is so sure that no federal court would take the case. In fact, Trump was not able to sue Cruz on this subject. Remember, Trump's mother was not an American citizen when Trump was born.

That won't stop the Dems. You're pretending the courts follow the law. It probably won't matter, because Cruz will probably not win the nomination, and if he does, he won't win the election.

There are only two types of citizens in this country: Natural Born and Naturalized.

A Natural Born citizen is such based on either Jus Soli ("right of the soil" - being born in the US) or Jus Sanguinis (right of blood - being the child of a US citizen).

A Naturalized citizen is such based on being born an alien, and has lawfully become a citizen of the United States under the constitution and laws by means of fulfilling the requirements, taking a test regarding knowledge of US civics and history, and being sworn in as a US citizen.

Ted Cruz is a Natural Born citizen on the basis of Jus Sanguinis. His mother was a Natural Born citizen so he is a Natural Born citizen. QED.

I am not pretending anything. McCain was born in Panama, as you know. Obama's father, as you know, was not an American. I have heard all the arguments from a local lawyer and those arguments deal with a murky basis, hinging on a somewhat legally unclear definition of what the constitution meant.

Trump has not been willing to hire lawyers to sue Cruz in spite of Trump's threats to sue--don't you think that Trump's unwillingness to spend his own money on this issue is an indication of how weak his case must be in the eyes of his New York lawyers? That case would cost Trump maybe $2,000 per hour for lawyers.

Cruz does better against Hillary than Trump does. Cruz is very brilliant and a true conservative. In a two-man race, Cruz can beat Trump. Cruz can defeat either Hillary or Sanders in debate. Now the public may reject another Southern Baptist president and another conservative Republican. Nevertheless, in my opinion, Cruz represents the best hope for a GOP victory in November in spite of the fractured nature of the GOP at this time.

Wow. It's like you guys have been asleep for the last eight years. THE LAW DOESN'T MATTER! There will be litigation, and once it goes to the Supreme Court, just like with Obamacare, anything goes.

Obamacare did not have any precedent and was a political decision. So far, no one has been able to get a case against Cruz through the lower federal courts. Donald says that he did not bring it up but the Washington Post did but then Donald brought up the Washington Post story. But Donald is so tight that he will not waste his money on what his New York City real estate lawyers in establishment Manhattan must be telling him Is a lost cause.

Oh, sorry, I hit the disagree button quite by accident--my computer has been choppy lately--I think I need a more powerful one.

Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother. He held dual citizenship until only recently. So, does he meet the criteria of being a natural born citizen?
As much as I would prefer that Cruz not be allowed to run, there is no real legal basis for denying him the privilege of running for office. He is a natural-born citizen according to the standards that have been long established.

I am a native Texans and as long as people get here as fast as they can and become Texans they are citizens
On the front of my house I have the Star of Texas in the center, then on the right a map of Texas and on the left a cowboy boot. And under that a sign that says "I was not born in Texas but I got here as soon as I could." I guess that makes me a Texican! :D

Wow! That sounds an awful lot like what the scholars were saying about Obama in 2008?! In fact many say he was the brightest ever in law school! So what does that say for Cruz .... not much????

In California they say if you can find a way to move here and remain for more than 50 years, you become a naturalized Californian. Well, I made it past the 50 year mark, and I worked for the state for 16 years, all of which earned me my California citizenship and the right to call myself a native!

Whoa, no one thinks now that Obama was smart at Harvard. Liberals go to the Ivy League--it's their club. For a conservative Protestant to go to Harvard and excel is rare. Cruz has had a brilliant legal career, which got him elected Senator. Obama on the other hand was a part-time contracted instructor at the University of Chicago and his legal work is very minor. Obama did not even write either one of his two books. Obama was not vetted by the press but Cruz has been. Cruz is Christian--Obama is Muslim most likely. I can't see that Trump is anything and the best that can be said of the Clintons is that they are no longer Baptists but just general religious left like Carter--do you agree?
