Calgary Pastor Tim Stephens has been arrested, after months of encouraging church congregants to break public health rules.

Police said Stephens was arrested for organizing a church service on Sunday at Fairview Baptist Church in southeast Calgary, in violation of a Court of Queen's Bench Order that requires organizers of events to comply with public health restrictions.

Stephens was proactively served a copy of the court order, which was obtained by Alberta Health Services, last week.

"The pastor acknowledged the injunction, but chose to move forward with today's service, ignoring requirements for social distancing, mask wearing and reduced capacity limits for attendees," police said in an emailed release.

Police said AHS had been attempting for weeks to work with the church to address the ongoing public health concerns at the site, and that enforcement was a last resort.

A Canadian pastor who was briefly jailed for violating public health orders by holding church services amind ongoing lockdown restrictions has compared his situation to those living in Hong Kong, where Christians are routinely persecuted for meeting for worship.

In an interview with Newsmax hours after his release from jail Monday night, Artur Pawlowski, pastor of Street Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, said, “I just woke up in Hong Kong a few days ago. I mean, I thought I emigrated to our beloved Canada, but I am in Hong Kong, full force.”

“It’s insanity — arresting pastor, shutting down churches. Craziness,” Pawlowski added, The Epoch Times reports.

• was made in reference to a completely different organization. The AHS broadened the order from a specific organization to the whole province.
• the order laid out specific terms of notification. Which the AHS did not comply with instead relying on a "vague" press release.

I wonder what Polish people who actually lived in the time of the Gestapo would think about his comments.

Churches all around the world who respect the laws of the land and love their neighbours have had no trouble continuing to worship with gathering and mask restrictions as outlined by their local health districts. Same with protest. It is possible to legally protest while respecting the laws of the land.

The cops sent in an armed militia on Easter week into the church. I wonder if they could have softened their approach to a church gathering instead of pissing them off? Maybe a private conversation with law enforcement and the church elders would have changed the whole outcome. BTW, what the cops did by barging into the church and then later arresting him and dragging him off was shameful.

This is just one province, but I think Canada has "progressed" more in its anti-Christian attitudes and laws, and evidently their law enforcement is going along with that "progress." If the people aren't outraged, then the country has "progressed."

As for the Fairview Baptist case:

The case was withdrawn becaues of an error made by the Calgary Police 3 days before his arrest when the order to comply with the the law was given to someone other than Tim Stephens. Because of this, he was not given proper notice, thus the case withdrawn. So he could still get arrested again in the future if they can hand deliver the order to the right person next time and he still fails to comply.

Following the Fairview Baptist worship service on 9 May, Calgary Police Service (CPS) officers hand delivered to an individual named Kent Pederson a copy of the 6 May Order. 2 CPS officers mistook Kent Pederson for Pastor Stephens such that they mistakenly believed they were hand delivering a copy of the 6 May Order to Pastor Stephens.3 Pastor Stephens was not served with the May 6 Order. Mr. Pederson deposes that he did not provide the 6 May Order to Pastor Stephens.4

Romans 13 is a critically important passage, and it needs to be considered in light of Acts 5:27-33. Whether the subject case fits within the Acts 5 passage I can't say - don't know all the facts in the situation.

Christian pastor arrested for Covid breach

A Melbourne Christian pastor who claims Covid is a hoax has been arrested after threatening to open for worship during lockdown restrictions.

Police swooped on the Sunday morning service after Revival Church leader Paul Furlong posted a video on Thursday threatening to lead the Narre Warren gathering in defiance of Covid rules.

In the Facebook video, Mr Furlong says he has chosen to “obey God over man” and called Covid “just a cold”.

In the video, Mr Furlong claims coronavirus is a “pandemic” designed to create a new world order.

“It is just a cold,” he says.

“It is the biggest hoax, the biggest fear mongering media power giants of the big boys all around the world to bring in a one-world government, one-world agenda.”

So many pastors and Christians bringing shame to God's name with their lack of obedience to God, particularly Romans 13 and Mark 12:30-31.

The millions of Christians who have no problems with worshiping under health orders have their witness tarnished by these belligerent few who have been misled and deceived by online misinformation. This only makes Satan happy.



The Melbourne outbreak of the India strain has now expanded to 60 cases and they are trying to contain it as aged care workers have been tested positive. One case travelled up to NSW and had over 100 contacts so it is likely that soon NSW will be getting cases as well after having only a handful of cases of local spread for over 6 months.

Our economy has now recovered to beyond pre-covid levels but that is being threatened by this new Melbourne outbreak.
