Carter didn't say "opposition in the south" is based on racial hatred. Carter said opposition to Obama's health care proposal is "overwhelmingly" based on opposition to his race. Carter is saying the whole country is full of racists; north, south, east and west....because anyone who opposes Obama must be a ractist.Nationally, 43% of all white voters voted for Obama,....In the deep South (Alabama, Miss., LA) the white vote for Obama was about 10-15%, and in Georgia, SC and Texas about 25%....There is very definitely a pattern here. One explanation might be racial prejudice....How can you say definitively that that is a LIE? What's YOUR evidence?
Alatide, you are incredible. Plenty of white southern men voted for Obama. Here is a photo of one.
How do you know this guy voted for Obama? Is this YOU?
Mitch, I can't help it. Tidy, what hatred am I pouring out? Tell me specifically what is hateful about what I posted.
I'm tired of playing your games. Sound familiar?
When you get banned for a fourth time, will you sneak back in here under still another alias?
Maybe one who habitually deceives isn't the best authority to be pointing out the sins of others...
When you EVER post something worthwhile will you let me know so I'm certain to read it?
Carter, knew exactly what he was talking about and he knows it. He just needs to go away and quit exposing his ignorance.
I agree, his comment toned down the outrageous behavior of the elected officials on the right so that now the rhetoric is coming only from the blogs and talk shows. He brought a lot of civility to the Hill with his comment and I don't know if it was intentional or pre-planned but the outrageous attacks from elected officials have subsided. It is almost as if the elected officials realize their boisterous, bigoted base on the far right is not sufficient to elect a dog catcher in any but southern states and unless they plan to be in perpetual exile they need to disassociate themselves from that part of the base.
Now look what we see, McCain and Pawlenty congratulated the President on his prize and Lindsey Graham rebuked the rhetoric. Way to go Carter!!!
I too am a southerner, I am white and I didn't vote for Obama. I didn't vote for Obama due to his political views, and reading about his past and his voting record. Also I didn't agree with the Black revolutionary theology of the church where he was a member. Most of us go to a church where we agree with the theology. As with most white men I know in the south, I'm very conservative in my views.
Would you or could you give the record of blacks voting for Obama? I don't know but in most races down here if a black runs for office and they are democrats about 93% or more blacks vote for them.
I could vote for a black as fast as a white or anyother race if I agreed with them. I could vote for Thomas Sowell if he ever ran for office before 95% of the whites who run.
I didn't vote for Carter and I liked the sign the Ga. Farmers put up in Ga. while he was president, they didn't care for Carter either.
At the church that I go to about 95% of the blacks voted for Obama and about 45% of the white did. Most of our members are from the northeast, maybe about 10 to 15% from the south.
By the way, the most raciest place I've been is Chicago.
LeBuick, to insinuate racism is nothing but a ploy. And, that my friend make you a race baiter. Race baiters can't open their mouth without yelling "racist" or at least insinuating it. It's hitting below the belt and un-Christian. Shame on you!!!!!
