Yes, you always have an excuse, whether it is this way or that way. I have come to believe that you may be one of the more unethical members of the Baptist Board, and yet you are tolerated, or perhaps even encouraged in this in your duties as a moderator. You pretend to restraint and yet consistently are the top poster of the day, week, and month.

I have become embarrassed to be a member here, and will be looking at how I can disable my account. If I cannot, Squire Robertsson, will you please do so? Thanks!

Looks like I’m late to the party, but just wanted to say that ever since I’ve been here, I’ve always felt that rlvaughn has been a guiding light for behavior on this board. He always welcomed new members, & wished for them to find the board a blessing. He never called anyone out, or put a foot wrong that I ever saw. We have lost a wonderful friend. Another sad day when the more things change, the more they stay the same.

I do understand the need for classified info remaining classified, though I believe governments often use this as an excuse to mislead or even lie to the “common” people.

There has been a lot of deliberately misleading statements coming from official government sources. That can only undermine confidence among citizens.

peace to you

I have learned that no parent/government/person is all good/right or all bad/wrong in their actions. It is always some form of gray, no matter how dark or how light.

I am frustrated and scared. We all are. I am trying to use this time to learn to manage my frustration and fear more maturely. It is hard to rate our progress when we are being tested so hard. It feels like I am going backwards. I don't like who I am becoming.

I grew up and spent my early adulthood in some pretty abusive situations. People tended to blame the messenger/enabler and not the true abuser. The abuser managed to get others to do his dirty work for him and to keep the victims attacking each other.

We need to better. We can do better. This can be a time for the church to shine like a beacon. We are blowing this opportunity.

I'm at a low point. I think we all are. How do we pull ourselves out of this? Sometimes the harder a ball hits the ground, the higher it bounces back up. This entire decade is setting up to be a waste. In the Great Depression there were immigrants that came over just before it started, and were multi-millionaires when it ended. They did not waste a single opportunity.

Can we do better? Does the church have something the secular world doesn't? Can we use that something? I don't know much, but I do know the first thing we need to do is to stop squabbling.

I appreciate your openness. Abuse carries scars, seen and unseen, for your entire life and can leave a person unable to trust. A good church with God loving Christians is the best healer we can find. Thank you Lord Jesus!!

Squabbling about politics is a different horse all together. I’m fascinated by the founding fathers discernment in writing the constitution. They were mindful of mankind’s sinfulness and tendency to abuse whatever authority they were given.

We have a responsibility, as those standing upon the shoulders of their great efforts, to preserve the checks and balances put into place.

This isn’t new. From the beginning of the country the assault on these freedoms launched and have been pushed back by patriots.

Squabbling is the least we can do.

peace to you

What we have are scientists who have come up with vaccines to help fight a virus. There is no evil motives in that. But vaccines also carry risks.

We have a government (both parties) trying to prevent the loss of lives by recommending vaccinations.

BUT we also have divisions about the scope of authority. We have divisions about whether the vaccines are worth the risk.

And then we have politics.

the BB is tame now. When I joined in 2006 this place was the Wild West . Now it’s just that some are favored and not others.

Hard to imagine BB is now “tame” by comparison.

I think I remember the Cal/Armin debate was cancelled for a while.

There have always been hot topics (I've been here since 2001). Almost always politics (around election) and Cal/Arm. I think the Cal/Arm was typically more heated.

:Laugh:Laugh you guys and your conspiracy theories.

covid is a new world order conspiracy

covid is just the flu

genomine servalience is a myth

the vaccinated will be dead in 5 years

covid is a plot to decrease the population

Good entertainment. I suspect I'm not the only one who has had a good laugh at some of these threads.

I thank God He has set the time I have left. One hour or 50 years, the vax won’t decide my time.

Come Lord Jesus

peace to you
I agree. I was just enjoying fellowship with my pessimistic (....or....optimistic?...) brother.

This is why I said a Christian should be able to decide whether to get a vacvine or not without fear.

I have been quoted as saying that I am as safe on the battlefield as in my own bed......ok.....that wasn't me. But it is true. God holds our lives.

God bless you.
He has.

I went to Charleston for my birthday and got to spend the day with my son who is a student at Charleston Southern University.

Wonderful believing amongst many other blessings.

So glad you do not have a sense of smell.

Smells funny.
I do have the sence of smell. Nothing funny about that.

My son is at Charleston Southern University. This is his first year. His goal is to serve as a youth minister or as a missionary. He is still determining God's call on that part.

And it was a blessing for me and my wife to spend the day with him.

If you go to Charleston I recommend the shrimp and grits at Amen Street. They are the best I have had.

Not sure why you think that is funny. It was not a joke. But whatever. People find humor in the strangest things.
