Obama Administration to Release Detainee Abuse Photos; Former CIA Official Says Former Colleagues 'Don't Believe They Have Cover Anymore'
April 24, 2009 10:23 AM
In a letter from the Justice Department to a federal judge yesterday, the Obama administration announced that the Pentagon would turn over to the American Civil Liberties Union 44 photographs showing detainee abuse of prisoners in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Bush administration.
The photographs are part of a 2003 Freedom of Information Act request by the ACLU for all information relating to the treatment of detainees -- the same battle that led, last week, to President Obama's decision to release memos from the Bush Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel providing legal justifications for harsh interrogation methods that human rights groups call torture.
Courts had ruled against the Bush administration's attempts to keep the photographs from public view. ACLU attorney Amrit Singh tells ABC News that "the fact that the Obama administration opted not to seek further review is a sign that it is committed to more transparency."

Not only are CIA and officials going to be resigning and retiring at alarming rates, there will be only ONE MAN to blame at the outpouring of islamic rage that is going to come down on the USA - OBAMA! This is the CHANGE America voted for. He has in his power the ability to keep this from happening but he wants this country to come to its knees, as indoctrinated well by Jeremiah Wright for 20 years. And yes, I do believe it - I don't make this statement lightly, but with a heavy heart.
Most of us here can remember the islamic rage all over the globe over those few photos from Abu Ghiarib. I remember islamic rage all over the globe from the allegations of a Quran being placed in a toilet, over cartoons, over their offense at exposures of truth about their religion from film maker Theo Van Gogh whom they murdered in the Netherlands. But we had a strong president, that whatever mistakes he made, the world knew not to mess with him or with US. He has been vilified and hated by our enemies and by the left, by the ACLU and Move On and the Huffington post, the Hollywood elite, and the New York times media elite, but he kept us safe after 09/11, even if the methods used were disagreed on by many here, we were still safe.
Now, with the release of these photographs, no matter what is depicted, no matter how humane or inhumane, no matter what is depicted, they will be headlines of media all over the world and a new flame of islamic rage will be ignited which will bring a terrorist attack, perhaps several attacks, on the USA. Bowing to the king of Mecca will not have made a difference. Smoozing with dictators will not have made a difference. The money of the Hollywood and media moguls will not have made a difference. We will be attacked and it will be terrible for we the people.
Prudence would demand to take precautions now to stock up on food, water, and medical supplies for our families.
I hope I am wrong, but judging from past history of islamic rage coupled with the Obama administrations concerted efforts to eviscerate our intelligence gathering and his actions to use the executive branch to appoint czars (and I do blame this ONE MAN, OBAMA, for releasing this information and photographs, he does have the power to do what GW Bush did and stop it), and I do blame the ACLU and the blame America first crowd,
and knowing Obama has the authority to declare Martial Law in the event of a national crisis, I am saying to prepare yourselves for the CHANGE.
Certainly, I don't believe this is the change those of you who voted for him had in mind, but the most foolish among us with any common sense surely cannot believe that releasing these photographs is not going to inflame the muslim world. If anyone believes that this is not going to harden the lines between East and West, then you are totally deluded.
We shall see what happens, but I have this sick feeling in my stomach that the end of life as we know it in America is on the threshhold of being gone, not in years, not in months, but weeks or even perhaps in days.
I certainly hope I am wrong. I pray I am wrong. :tear:
Even so, Lord Jesus, Come Quickly.
