Isaiah 53:5
"5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
This is one of those scriptures that we have quoted for many years. Three of the four thoughts in the scripture I understand. But the fourth one I have questions about.
What is meant by: "the chastisement of our peace was upon him"?
What chastisement?
What peace?
What is the application to our Christian life?
