When will people come to understand that the Christian's defense of marriage as being a union between one man and one woman has NOTHING to do with our feelings toward those who don't practice it, or believe in it? It is simply a matter of fact. THIS is what marriage IS. If you want some other union for two males or two females then make up your own term, don't try to redefine this one.

We may feel homosexuality is wrong, but so is gluttony and have you seen some of our preachers? We can forgive sin and still love and work with those who practice it, without agreeing that it is 'right.'

Homosexuality, even from an evolutionary Atheist, isn't natural. It is not reproductive, but destructive, by its very nature. Clearly, we are made (or for them, 'evolved naturally') to reproduce and homosexuality doesn't allow for that basic natural advancement of mankind. Instead, it has promoted the cause of some disease and the spread of many more worldwide. It is not a victimless choice. It is a perversion of what is clearly natural and those who oppose it shouldn't be demonized simply because we believe this truth. Especially those of us, like Dan Cathy, who are kind and loving toward those who happen to disagree with him on this point.

Seriously though, part of the problem is the fact that some Christians -while promoting the Biblical definition of marriage out of one side of their mouth - mock, scorn, and hate homosexuals out of the other side of their mouths.

I'm having to deal with that on another forum. Members who are pro-Biblical marriage and who have no qualms in posting their hatred for the homosexual community.

I agree. The hatred gives "Christianity" a bad name on a host of topics, homosexuality being the foremost. I think some so called 'Christians' in our world today would have stoned the prostitute brought to Jesus and then attempted to stone Jesus for not joining in.

I never run into Christians who do this. I am sure some are out there but they are most likely a very small minority and not worth anyone's time.

About 12:40 p.m. I swung by the local Chick-Fil-A intending to buy a chicken salad sandwich at the drive-thru, and that place was packed with cars in the lot, and the drive-thru was lined up all around to the front. I skipped it. And I can't say for sure that that isn't +/- nornal for a summer Saturday at that time, it does appear there's more to it than regular business.

Really, while I wouldn't want to see what I consider a fine business to be harmed by this recent conflict, I also don't genuinely wish for the enterprise to be helped by it, as it then would be claimed that old man doubled his fortune by his reeeal meeean words.

Yesterday 8/1/12 I stopped on my way home from work at the Easton PA Chick-fil-A. This was the first time I have ever been there (CFA). I waited in line for about 35 minutes and then about 10 for my order. Worth every second of my time. When I got back into my car, the line of cars entering the parking lot was almost a quarter mile long.

At the store, great conversations, smiling faces and making a small gesture for freedom of speach, freedom of opinion. 40 minutes after receiving my order, I sat down with the mother of my two children and my two children and ate a great (and still hot) chicken sandwich.

Funny thing, when I arrived home I discovered that my son's girlfriend was there. I only ordered enough for 4 people and thought to myself i would give up my CFA for my son's GF. When I opened the bag and took out the food, there were 5 sandwiches in the bag.

Would this be an example of God using a worker's oversight or error to bless your family? This person's mistake was obviously a result of the fall. Did God CAUSE them to make a mistake in order to give you an extra sandwich? :laugh:

Heard on local talk radio a lesbian caller who went to eat with her mother at Chick-fil-a...Her reasoning? (my paraphrase)..."I am a true liberal...I believe they have as much right to believe as they do as I do...I do not want the owners of a good business to be silenced just because they don't agree with me...I actually appreciate and defend their freedom of speech as much as I would like them to defend mine."

On a side note: I agree with what has been posted here: One thing I think we Bible-believers must do is differentiate between the "status" or tendency towards homosexuality or homosexual temptation and the act itself. All of us, (herero-sexuals included) are sexual deviants.....Are you tempted in your natural godless state towards fornication? You are a sexual deviant. Have you ever "double-taked" at a woman who was not your beloved (and beautiful) wife? Even if you corrected yourself immediately...you are, by nature, a sexual deviant. Your temptation is "other" and also perhaps not as "extreme" as the deviant temptations of homosexuals...but they are condemnable as well. I know of Godly Christians...who have repented and turned from such tendencies who truly struggle...and they make some serious sacrifices to do so.

I also shared the gospel once with a very good man, a "homosexual" who feared hell more than any....who refused to actually engage in homosexual activity....who TRULY believed that he could NOT be saved because God would NOT save or love a "homosexual". Mind you, the man did NOT engage in the activity...and continuously called me a "liberal" ( I NEVER get accused of this) because I would not consign him to hell because he is tempted towards that deviant lifestyle....It was truly sad. He had ammended his ways, at least by avoiding homosexual activity, but he argued that God would NOT save someone who was a "homosexual". He had no idea of the irony....I failed to explain grace sufficiently....he felt he had to become worthy first. This is easily ammendable, but when it comes uniquely to the sin of homosexuality....modern tradition has failed to preach the gospel, or give them the truth.....

We have LIED to them and told them that the lust (or at least the temptation) itself were the sin....it is not. It is a weakness no different than that of other sins such as our own self-righteousness and pride.....(Pulpit rescinded now...sorry)

If anything, it is an organized effort to demonstrate support for the owner of Chik-Fil-A to exercise his freedom of speech and voice his opinion without being demonized by the powers that be. While other ventures are giving in to special interest lobbyists to promote their disgusting cause by buying advertisements, the owner of Chik-Fil-A simply expressed his opinion, demonstrating that he will not be bought.

I just can't understand what the issue is here. The current President and most other elected officials held to the same view at Dan Cathy when they were elected. Why are people acting as if this is news?

Why don't they go talk to all the democrats in Congress who still believe marriage is defined as one man and one woman? If anything is NEWs, it would be that. Not what some Christian fast food restaurant owner believes!!!

They all know that many of them would lose their seats in congress if they actually reported the REAL news.
